Re: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War
basically there are 4 civilizations (5 in the expansion pack). the space marines, orks, eldar, and the chaos legions. in the expansion there is also the imperial guard. the space marines have very good infantry and mechs but are also expensive. the orks are amazing at zerging and melee but die rather quickly to anti infantry. eldar are cheap and decent everything but die rather fast. the chaos legion are just like the space marines but more infantry and barely any mechs. and the imperial guard have the weakest units in the beginning and strongest units later.
in this game there are 2 resources. energy (build plasma generators) and requisition. requisition is obtained by capturing and holding these flag like type areas throughout a map. another cool feature is units have 2 bars. health and morale. when health runs out they die. when morale runs out they run and/or fight ineffectively. units are also customizable. you can equip units with flamethrowers, chain guns, plasma rifles, or missle launchers depending on what you think the will need. you can also assign leaders to groups and assign squad leaders. same goes with tanks. you can add powerful lasers to shoot buildings and vehicles or chain guns to mow down infantry.
its kinda neat cuz they kinda have finishing moves sometimes. like you'll be fighting in the middle of a battle and a mech will pick up an enemy and throw him. or a mech will swing his arm and cause a bunch of enemies to fly back. you'll see space marines kick an enemy onto the ground and shoot him or see a mech pick up an enemy and crush him in his hands. its pretty neat.
