Rangers are very capable vehicles weither it be rock crawling, mudding, trails you name it. Given with the IFS it does hinder it in some of the more extreme rockcrawling that you see a lot of jeeps and what not doing out in CO, but I promise you a well set up ranger can go through some very tuff stuff. I've seen rangers do stuff some jeeps couldn't. Jeeps are great I love them, but they can't go through everything

nope, thats why the US military ditched the jeeps for a more capible platform. the hummer. faster, more maneuverable, less prone to rolling over due to wider chassis and better center of gravity. plus it can take mortars and mines like a ***** and keep driving. how far can a jeep go on a flat tire?

only downside though, as lesbians are associated with jeeps, hummers get rich gangsta rappers that put on 26" giovonni rims and spinners, and soccer moms who buy the super watered down versions cause they think theyre pretty. **** that.

i would take a jeep over a hummer any day of the week, and promptly slap a "h2 recovery team" sticker on it

Meh, a H2 isn't a hummer. It's a tahoe with body cladding.

Ya that is a nice ranger. If I had to get a hummer it would be the h1. The convertible one.

Re: mmm....sexy ranger

If it isnt a Humvee its not a hummer. pieces of crap

nice ranger but tires are to small and not enough lift. At least gotta get some 35s.

and sonic...are you trying to say an IFS front is good? cause if you are that is not true.

I'm not saying its bad. I said even thought it has IFS it does hinder it when it comes to the more extreme rock crawling that sfa's do. I would rather have a sfa, but rangers dont come with it, but the newer one's 02+ with the fx4/level II option does pretty damn good even with the IFS.

But...it's only a humvee while still in service...a civilian can never own a humvee.

neither do 80-96 Broncos...but there are many broncos with a SAS done to either a solid 44 or even one ton axles.

For Prerunnin style of wheelin yeah IFS is great. That is why you see a lot of F150s and broncos..the TTB does it good. However for trails and rock crawlin they are crap. (not just that extreme crawlin) Not as much flex is allowed. The worst thing IMO though is the fact that every time you go wheelin you need an alignment. Gets knocked out to easily, especially with oversized tires like my 36s. That is why many people invest in the lifetime alignments from places like Firestone. Just wish I wheeled enough to justify a SAS. costs 3-4k to do just one axle on average. I would do more if I had some lower gears and a tow rig so i can trailer the bronco.

and you can own a humvee, if you are lucky enough to score one at a military auction....vary rare occasions and they are usually so far gone that it would take a lot of work to get it going again.

I should rephrase that though, if it isnt a H1 its not a hummer. and not the all blinged out H1s either. I personally only like 2 body styles of the H1. The pick up version and the armored version (cant remember the actual name) body style that the military uses. Which you can get that body style in the civilian world.

It's not a humvee once it is taken out of service. Humvee is a military term, not civilian, cmon man, you should know that lol.

I do know that. However it is still a humvee. No matter how you look at it.

yeah after 40 years of use, you have to change sometimes when it comes to the military.
