yet another accident for the stang

this morning my sister hit a deer or the way to school, no major damage at all. just a little gash in the hood as well as the front bumper being pushed in and down. but other then that nothing, and she was just find even tho the door did get on top of the hood. so this is now three accidents for this car (one just being getting tapped hard enough of knock paint off in a parking lot).

im just about done with this bull****, my parents wont help me pay to have it fixed nor does my sister have the money. and i cant take it to insurance, i dont have the money to pay for any hike in monthly rate. i dont know im just tried of this crap, im thinking just buy a truck so if this **** happens i wont get so upset.

Dude that sucks...but it would mess up a truck probably more b/c it wouldn't stop as fast, think of it that way.

Re: yet another accident for the stang

my sister didnt get a chance to hit the brakes at all, and if she did it would have been worse. and it was a buck but it deff was not a 10 pointer, but it supposedly had a lot of points.

im thinking its time for a wrangler with a 5 spd and 4 or 6 cyl with a bull bar. i love my bigs 00 wrangler with the inline 6, shifters on the sloppy side but its still a fun little truck. plus my insurance will go down, and if i hit something with a bull bar on it, it wont even touch the truck. plus ill sit higher which is nice, esp when you hit a deer or something.

Re: yet another accident for the stang

A friend of mine who has a 2002 let his brother drive his car the other day. Guess what?

Answer: Don't let others drive your car!!!! Thy can't or won't pay for what happens. Sometimes being a nice guy, good brother, or whatever can cost a lot of $$$$$.

Even though it's little damage, sorry it happened. Hope something comes along that will help you get it fixed!

That jeep with a bullbar will still take damage if you hit a deer. There isn't much to a jeep. If you want a truck that can handle a deer get you and old ford/chevy/dodge truck from the 80's with the solid steel bodies.

I also doubt your insurrance will go down. If anything it'll probably go up. Since it is a jeep for one and 2 its a 4x4. Both those scream high insurrance if your under 25 and male. It almost as bad as having a mustang gt. I'll put it to you this way 2 years ago I had my 96 gt and my insurrance was around 1200/6mo if I had a 4x4 of the same year it would of been maybe a $100 less if that. I was 19 with a clean record.

Sorry to here about your car, but I wouldn't let my sister touch any of my vehicles.

Re: yet another accident for the stang

call your insurance company... here hitting an animal is a comprehensive claim and doesn't not count against you. call the annonomously (sp) and ask if hitting a deer is comprehensive and what will happen to one's policy after a claim and if nothing does then file it.

If he was going to get an edge it'd be better to get the 4.0 and s/c it. It's a little more difficult to put a v8 in a late model ranger compared to the older ones.

Well if your looking for a 2wd avoid the s10. They aren't quite up to the task. They are better as street trucks. If your going for a street truck then both are even when it comes to it.

Re: yet another accident for the stang

I am not sure but a deer hit is under comprehensive and not collision which typically insurance does not go up. It is more a act of nature like a tree falling on the car or hail damage. You dont have the power to stop a deer where if you had wrecked into a car or something there would be cause for rate hike. But the big thing here is what is your deductable.

Then go with a 01+ edge 4x4 with the ext cab. You will end up with the 4.0 which is the best motor out of them all.

He wants a jeep, we talked in depth about this the other day. He isn't big on pickups. Besides, jeeps > rangers any day off road!

take them to judge judy, if she is under 18 then her parents are legally responsible, else you can sue her.

Re: yet another accident for the stang

nah im not sueing my family over a pushed in fender and messed up dent thing on the hood. the damage isnt nearly as bad as when you hit your deer. and honestly i think i can fix the bumper myself, and the hood just need the dent to get popped out and repainted so its not really worth the 500 deductable.

i think im going to try and pick up a jeep this summer, if i can afford it. im thinking if i can pick one up for like 11,000 and then drop a 2K down payment i should be ok on the monthly payment over 5 years even if it is on my name, (build my credit a little) .

does anyone know the answer to this, if i have a car in my name, and im under the age of 25 can i still be on my parents insurance or does the car have to be in my dads name?

My dad has gieco and he has to have his name on the car in order to have it on his policy.

I love jeeps just as much as you do, but they aren't the best at offroading. ONE of the best yes. The biggest key with jeeps is they have the short wheelbase and solid axle's and the softtop during the summer is a plus.

I'm aiming to pick up a bronco II within the next year since I can find them for cheap. It'll be able to run with a jeep easily once i've done a couple things to it. I already found a pretty nice one for 1500 and another one for around 2100 and they are around all the time. I thought about a fullsize bronco, but for what I want it for it'd be too big.

Hm...a dent in a fiberglass hood is not easy. And as far as insurance, the insurance must be in the name of the owner of the car.
