*OFFICIAL* Looking for 2003/2004 cobra

Well I am going to have my car paid off very soon (today if I wanted to) and thus I am starting my look for a 2003/2004 cobra. I had considered the 05 gt but... they are over priced for what you get, 27-29k for a hardtop GT.... I dont think so.... and its just a GT... so nothing super special... and only 300hp/300tq.

Its not going to be easy to find what I am looking for so I dont plan to pick one up next week.... I am NOT buying a black one, and probably wont take lazer red, silver, or white (definatly not silver) so... that leaves me with only 3 colors maybe: Sonic Blue, Yellow, Performance Red (or what ever the red is thats bright). I am pretty set on Sonic Blue... but they wont be easy to come by.

I am saving so the more time it takes the more I can afford to spend. I dont think I will look into the 2004's at this time due to they are 28-30k for a hardtop.... I am leaning toward a 2003 convertable (27,500-28,500) but we will see....

If you happen to see a very nice cobra that fits what Im looking for then let me know, and NO I will not EVEN consider black so dont even try. Like I said it probably wont be next week or next month due to how hard they are to find in good shape that meets my requirements... but when one comes along that is what I am looking for I plan to take it.

(there is a 2003 lazer red vert in Hville at the ford lot.. im sure its far overpriced and its the wrong color but... i may look at it anyway just to start getting info on them and how they drive/ride/etc)

As far as my car is concerned I may sell it if anyone wants it and will pay me what its worth, but I probably will just use it as my daily driver as I do now and keep my new car for when ever I feel like driving it. I am also looking for another job so that will also help in what I can afford if I can find a good job....

Dark Shadow Gray...it replaced the mineral gray. DSG/Mineral Grays are very nice...were my #2 color choice...but I agree with you, go for the sonic (my #1 color choice)...it pops more.

SVTPerformance, look through the classifieds. There are quite a few sonic blues on there, one just sold that you would have been impressed with.

Exactly. I don't get that either. If i had a stock V6 for a dd and bought a Cobra I think the Cobra would turn into the dd after one weekend of driving it.

I think if I still had my car and had a Cobra, mine would be the dd, and the Cobra would be the date/weekend car.

I dunno after feeling that power i'd be tempted as hell to drive it more often.

It's like banging the hottest chick in the world on the weekend and then go and looking for sloppy seconds on the weekdays. lol...

But on a serious note Spectre it would be a good idea to put some of that saved up money in a nice MM account or something else that earns high interests while you're waiting to find the right Cobra. I don't know what your financial plans are but it would suck if your next job didn't turn out like you thought and then you're like 26K in debt.
so.......good luck man.

You would be surprised...after driving a 340 hp car for a few days.. I like the v6. It doesn't have the tendency to slide everywhere when you don't want it to...well that and I'm just used to the way the v6 handles.

thats sad bro. i completely broke the rears loose today going into 2nd while trying to get over(i was at the far right lane, 1st at the light when i took off) to the far left lane to turn into the mall. i took off in 1st, gave it a little gas, hit 2nd and went about 1/2 throttle while going over the part on our overpass where its like looking at really coarse sandpaper but its actually smooth. the driver of the car was scared to see a car pass him while at a 45* angle. when i was stopped at the next light(in the left lane i was hahaha) he stopped right next to me(the go straight lane) and looked over. i yawned. didnt even wake me up from my morning brain fog.

I'm just thinking, when it'd cold, and wet. I'd rather have something without all the power to get around in.

I fully agree. 3/4 throttle, 1/2 throttle, doesn't matter. 1st and second are spinning right away...unless you only use enough throttle to get moving.

Was challenged to a race by a procharged GT 2 weeks ago. Quick car. It was in the 40s that night...launched in 1st, spin, hit second, spin, hit 3rd, finally started to grip...by 4th I caught him....not too bad I guess since he had me by at least 3 out the hole...

Cold weather + high HP = no traction. Spector should be good though because he won't rag on the car like I do. He will be driving like a normal person.

Re: *OFFICIAL* Looking for 2003/2004 cobra

im going to look at a 03 redfire convertable that probably looks identical to smurfins lol, bit high miles for me... but if they give me a good price who knows... 37k on the clock puts it about average~ but still high for a cobra. They also have a yellow 03 with 19k miles (hardtop) but... i dont think yellow will work for me.

There is another redfire hardtop with 24k miles on it for 23k... not bad but ... I really want a vert

Awww...we can be twins...lol. I would say definintely go vert. You won't be a track queen so you don't need to rigidity of a coupe. Definitely go vert.

Oh, and I am about to hit the 11.5k miles here shortly on mine.

the vert has 37k on it... which is average for an 03 but high for a cobra... but... they may come down on the price due to that fact, and I wont drive it ALL The time (unless i have to for now) so I can get the miles back down on it.

my insurance goes up 125 bucks every 6 months and when I turn 25 (8 months) it will go down a TON so insurance is NOT a problem right now

It's not when you turn 25. it's when you have had your license for 8 years. I believe.
