These cars still get good gas mileage. The 60's era muscle cars, with their big engines and bigger carbs were terribly inefficient. I don't know what they got for gas mileage, but I'll bet it was around 10. My TA averages up over 20 every tank. Some of those cars on the list do better than that (they claim better than 30 on the new Camaro concept). So gas may be more expensive, but you've got to buy alot less of it.

Most of the time, with the t56 mated to any of the LT/LS engines, you'll see upper 20's, sometimes low 30's on gas mileage. My roommate gets 30/31 on the highway with ~340 hp and 3.73 gears
