what should i do?

heres what my eleanor(project: Feleanor) would almost look like. the above one looks like it was very half assed. the rims stick out from the fenders, the stripes are too far apart and are a vinyl, and he only used the front roush kit, and not the whole shibbang to finish the look, the real eleanor the exhaust comes through the side skirts, much like the roush does, not just under the body. and those rear window scoops cost 500 for a pair. so this **** aint gonna be cheap, but more than likely, would win car shows if i do it right, unlike the above.

so thats
~2,000 for paint
500 for window scoops
100 for secondary fog lights(the twin fogs up front)
~1500 rims/tires
not to mention not having the car for a while, and driving with mommy to work.

or heres what the black on black scheme will look like

RaginRoush's car is ****ing badass. first time i saw it was right before i got my mustang and i was down in san diego. i was like "man if i ever have a black 99-04, thats what itll look like". then i got one.......and now im having thoughts on changing it to a completely different color.

and that will cost
500 to paint the kit black
1500 rims/tires

im still waiting for my Saleen S218 wing to come in. i dont like the roush wing, makes the *** look very high strung. plus if i go with the feleanor scheme, itll look more like the lip spoiler they have on the gt500 rear, as opposed to a regular spoiler. i have till next friday to decide either way, which by next friday ill know if i have my new job or not. if i get it(pays double what i make now) the eleanor scheme is laid in stone. but then again, if i dont go that route, thats more money to get nitrous and other mods to back up the insanely good looks of either setup. big decisions i must make on the future of this car.

Re: what should i do?

I cant decide I like them both. If I HAD to take one it would be ele without the lights & Black rims.

Re: what should i do?

That black one is damn sexy.

I don't like the elanor look on that body style. It's too much of trying to get the car to be something it's not. The fog lights are way too big for the grill. Looks like the car is about to go rally racing with some WRX's and evo's on a dirt track or something. It just doesn't have the form to pull it off.

I'd keep it subtle and simple. A nice glossy black with maybe some flat black stripes would look nice and clean. And then like you said, get some mods with the extra cash to back up the looks.

Re: what should i do?

i like the window scoops too. im digging the color of the elenor one. I too agree the lights are too big. Maybe a tad smaller and it would set it off just right. Dont care for the chrome though. I like those darker wheels.

Re: what should i do?

like i said there are a few things id do different on the eleanor scheme. the fogs up front need to be moved into the fascia more, the stripes need to actually be painted(not a vinyl) and need to be closer together.

more opinions.............

Re: what should i do?

I'm kinda over with the Eleanor scheme.. Seems like that's all everyone wants to do. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to see more Roush type kits hit the street. I really contemplated getting side exhausts until I fell in love with my Warlocks. I mean, what other side exhaust cars do you see on the road besides Vipers? I'd go with different rims tho

i dont. well i did, until i got my roush kit. now they should stop selling them so nobody sees my car and says "man i want that now" and then it becomes watered down, like the blitz kit on 2g eclipse/talons. it was cool, like the first 2 you saw, but when everyone put the blitz kit on........

vipers dont have side exhaust do they? my cousins comes out the middle of the back, thats on the 94 though(he has number 101 ever made i believe), could be different for newer ones.

Re: what should i do?

Yeah the newer Vipers come out the side.

If you do go through with the Feleanor just remember you got a lot of time to put into it before it gets to the final product. I bet you could turn more heads with a completed kit though

Re: what should i do?

I always was partial to black stangs and chrome, however it seems to me that i see way too many black stangs with chrome lately, id go different and go with the eleanor scheme to make your car stand out from the 54563567 other stangs out there

Re: what should i do?

its a win win situation. an eleanor would be neat but i think i am leaning more towards the black and chrome. why? just because im not too fond of eleanor clones that arent the original eleanor's body style. how about maybe an eleanor remix with a different color scheme?

Re: what should i do?

well theres the actual GT500 scheme which is black with silver stripes. the grey/black stripes is actually the reverse colors, but it looks better. you can see how the black/silver stripes look, check raginroush's site. its cool, but i think the silver stripes clash with the chrome rims, though the silver stripes and anthracite bullits might match up well.

my dad told me to quit being a pansy and go eleanor. of course though hes biased and loves that movie.

im like 70% leaning towards the eleanor scheme.

Re: what should i do?

don't go rice on us

hmm get a kaenan hood or something like it with a single cowl. and maybe the CDC side skirts w/ side exhaust would look more shelby-like.

the CDC skirts are for 94-98's, at least i couldnt find any, thus i went with the roush kit, which has more angular lines and goes with the 99-04 lines better than the curviness of CDC skirts that look well on a 94-98. you do know the roush kit has side exhaust skirts with tips right?

any links to the hood you speak of? if i could find one that looked just like the one on the GT500(just a hump to clear the air cleaner), id get it, but i still think the GT scoop hood is a fair replacement.

Re: what should i do?

I like the schemes on both. The Eleanor setup is real cool, but since I gotta choose between the two, I'm gonna have to go with the Roush kit. I may have to go with that one for myself as well...

His is real cool. There are so many combinations you can do, it's just a matter of doing it right and not going overboard. I see a lot of Saleen wannabees in my area, so I'm kinda bored of that style

yeah spec has a badass looking car(his black one, he hasnt done anything to his slobra yet ). thats why i went with the saleen rear wing instead of the roush 4post that comes with the kit, i like the sleeker lines the s281 wing gives the rear.

youll all see it when it gets done, which wont be for a while now.

Re: what should i do?

thanks for the compliments, its all about a smooth design and keeping the flow going, not to much busying it up. Its hard at times to find that fine line between a nice mod and over the top. I look at stuff for ever before I decide what I want. It may look great one way and look like crap from another and so forth.
