wow id be so pissed at myself if I bought a carrera GT for $440,000 MSRP and got beaten by a $28,000 + $3,000 worth of mods (probably less lol)

Exactly, who wouldn't rather have a Carerra GT over a cobra? I would personally take a normal 911 carerra over a cobra. Sure it may not be quicker in the 1/4, but it is much more refined and it is still plenty quick enough.

I may have grown out of the "I need a 10 second car" crap due to owning the evo, but ever since then, I look at suspension as well as engine. When I was on the track, there was a carrera GT and some Ferraris I was racing against in my evo. I was able to stay near them eventhough my driving wasn't as good as theirs because of my engine and suspension. Had I been a better driver, I would have been able to pass them as some of the other evos did. There was also an 03 cobra out with us. I was lapping him. He couldn't carry speed thru the corners like the rest of us.

I just look at more practical driving lately. There are turns on your normal roads. There are bumps on the roads. You need a car that can turn as well as go straight.

Just my 3 cents

I wouldnt say Im loyal to ford, or that the mustangs performance and handling make me want one, its more than that.

The following of the mustang is MASSIVE its freaking huge, no other car group is like it, or even close. I know its not the fastest, or the best handling, or anything, its all about the people that own them that make me want one.

I dont need a super over expensive trophy car to show off "look at me" in, Ill take the american muscle and be done with it

be it GM or Ford (dodge sucks)

If i had one, i wouldnt have it for the "look at me" factor, i get enough looks from people, and most people wont race me in my Tbird, so a Porsche wouldnt be any differnet. Id have one for the handling and braking more than the power. Have any of you driven a mid engine car? I drove an MR2, just a little MR2, and the handling was so much better than any stock front engine, rear wheel drive car ive ever driven. Imagine a car BUILT for performance, with big brakes, some big tires, a huge amount of power, on a balanced chassis...yeah...

you can take your cobra's all you want, but youll NEVER match the driving experience of a Porsche
