I mean OMG this car really is a impressive awesome looking mean machine that inspires performance
There was the King Cobra that was actually rather fun, got the Carrol Shelby signature on the dash and everything. The 302 with a 4bbl and 4-speed was fun.

Carrol Shelby would put his name on burnt toast for money back then!!!!

The King Cobra was 140BHP, 3,300lbs, 17.9 1/4 mile. Jesus a 94-98 V6 stock would pull one of these

I had a 75 international scout with a 345 comanche motor that would pull them. My 76 Caprice classic would pull these. My 74 Z-28 aand 78 Z-28 stock would rape them.

The 70's were the main reason I loathed Ford for years. The fit and finish was horrible. The engines were not reliable. The styling sucked ***. These were the years that brought us the famous lines such as

Found On Road Dead
Fix Often Repair Daily
For Only Redneck Drivers
F**ked Over Rebuilt Dodge

Which brings me to today where Ford was the first American car company to get there head out of there *** in the 90's

The SS 396 Camaro was a very rare with only 1,533 made. The HP was rated at 300hp but actually around 350. What is interesting the Z-28 with the 350 had a rated HP of 360 but was actually around 410. This was all when they still used RWHP ratings

I will beg to differ

302 Chevy > ford 302 plain and simple The 67-69 Z-28 ruled on the race track
327 Chevy Had no egual
350 Chevy > over any variant of Ford 351
Chevy 396 = Ford 390
Chevy Aluminum 427 > Ford 427. In the 60's and 70's the aluminum 427 in the 69 Corvette was a 10.6 sec stock factory car and that was with skinny *** tires. There were only 2 other faster and they were Plymoth Cuda and Dodge Dart at 10.5. Fords fastest to date is the 05 GT at 11.2 and before that the 64 Ford Fairlane at 11.76

Re: If you could...

depends on the years though now that i think about it. but the 351C smacks the 350 around all day guess thats why alot of the chevy people call the 351C a bigblock so they can feel better about their all mighty 350.

The 4.6 is way more reliable & gets way better gas mileage than a 302. I have had them both. Modulars all the way. I have had 3 mustangs. A 90 saleen. 88GT vert (caged) and my 01GT. A stroker modular can hang with a 331 & has almost 30 less cubic inches. Think b4 you speak. Now what happens if you put forced induction on both? 331 go boom! unless its a r302 block. 4.****s are almost bullet proof. Your block will blow up way b4 mine. No more push rods for me.

Re: If you could...

well for one, you cant compare the 2 stroker for stroker...the motors are apples and oranges apart. stock 302 blocks can handle enough power and 351 stock blocks can handle even more power...if ya put forced induction on ur mod motor with its hyperpathetic pistons, yours will go boom first nice thing about the pre 92ish 5.0s is forged pistons = not go boom.

Its not your fault the SOHC mod motors dont impress me at all... yes the 99-04 4.6 has about 35hp more then my pushrod 5.0 but you have aroud 3ft lbs more torque...why is that? and you would not need a 331 to hang with a stroked modular, just get a trickflow or holley H/C/I and ya have about 350hp right there, more then enough to get into the 11's with a foxbody.

Now, Im not getting into a big drawn out argument since there will be no winner. besides your parts cost about twice as much as mine atleast so ha

corey that link is awesome. That just proves that the Hemi can't be beat lol. At least the ones from back in the day. I just wish the 60s-70s street Hemis were cheaper and more readily available. That is why I prefer the 318-340-360 and 383 and 440 blocks more. They were offered in a lot of the cars and trucks, and parts are all over the place. They make some pretty good power N/A too, from what I have read.

Re: If you could...

Nothing against SBF engines, but I just think of the SBC as the ultimate hot street car motor. Cheap to build, nearly limitless aftermarket, and displacement combinations ranging from under 300ci all the way up to 427ci. All the parts are interchangeable, too. Heads, cams, intakes, distributors, headers, all work on any small block Chevy (they started to get away from this in the mid-80's and the new LSx motors have abandoned it completely). It's a beautiful thing.

Wow...lots of misinformation we have going on here.

Apparantly you dont know much about the small block ford if you think a 331 will blow up with boost. It will blow up if youre a complete idiot and build it using cheap BS parts you find on ebay. Ive seen STOCK BLOCK 5.0's making 650ish rwhp, turbo'd, in daily drivers, and last for years.

The reason people say that stupid "stock blocks only last up to 500rwhp" is because they are followers and dont know what they hell theyre doing. Its all in how you tune the engine, at those power levels, detonation will destroy your engine, modular or small block, chevy or ford, honda or toyota.

And if you want to compair a stroker modular, versus a stroker small block, youre not making a fair compairison. Look at the cost of a good stroker kit for a 4.6L, and a stroker for a 5.0.

When you put some serious power down in a 4.6, the first thing to go is the rods and pistons. Remember that.

So...think b4 you speek.

youre an idiot. of course the ls1 will be better, its only a 350cu engine versus a measly 281. now compare the ls1(5.7L) to a 5.4L(n/a) and you get a better comparison. most stangs that do the 5.4 swap are in LS1 territory with just the swap, if not a bit faster. besides, having been in my coworkers husbands 02 SS before i had my stang, i wasnt much impressed. and thats when i was running untuned 15psi, and all i could think of was "thats it?" i like the feel of the smaller 4.6 actually. im not too worried, cause most LS1 drivers need the extra power to make up for their lack of driving skillz.

haha that made my day. bulletproof my ***. there is no such thing as a bulletproof motor. there are strong motors that can handle lots of power, but it all comes down to the tuner, cause a ****ty tune can kill even the strongest of motors.

Congratulations. You win a nomination for most incredibly stupid post of the year.
