If you could...

Buy and restore/restomod/ect. any old car (pre 80s) what would it be?

Mine:

1974 Plymouth Road Runner MAN I love those. I would drop a fuel injected 340 or 440 big block, back it with a 5 speed. GOD, and it would look a little something like this:

haha I wish, looks nice, probably waaaay out of my price range, plus you are far away. Not to mention I really want a 74, although a 383 would be nice. What year is that one, 71, 72? If I had the cash (hell it would be nice to have any cash right now) I would be all over the 74 that I linked. I love the body style, especially the hood.

1971-71 Plymouth Scamp. Put a 340 Duster nose on it, paint it grabber green, put the 340 Duster interior in it (buckets, console), get a crate 360 engine from mopar, get a repop 6-pack setup, 4-speed with a piston grip...yeah...it would be fun.

Re: If you could...

Hm...this is actually a pretty hard one. There's so many older cars I would love to own and restore.
I'd have to say though, an old 67-68 Camaro Z28 or SS would be perfect.

a 440 can and will fit, but why? It wouldnt suit my style of driving really. Plus, id love to make a Scamp out to be like the 340 Dusters, theyre both Chrysler A-bodies, use the same front clip and doors, and most of the interior, so it would be sweet to build the 340 Scamp that never was available

Thats true, I am just big block happy I guess haha. I do like the 340 engine tho. Its not so popular, but built right, and they can make some good power.

Re: If you could...

the 318/340/360 engine family is actually very popular, not just because of the power they make, but the RPM's they can turn when you open them things up. Theyre also durable as hell, you cant kill a small block chrysler from the 60's-70's.

yes, but you don't see as many 340s as you do 318s or 360s, or at least I haven't in my experiences.
