Wow.... who's seen.

The old 1964 film called Fail-Safe?

Crap I saw half of it, paused it, and got the shivers and anxiety to see what happens I nearly threw up. I'd recommend everyone to see this film, trust me you won't be disappointed in such a chiller film. Here's the small summary Net Flix has on it.

Quote:
A riveting politcial chiller, Fail-Safe stars Henry Fonda as the president who tries to prevent a nuclear holocaust when a computer error deploys U.S. missiles to Moscow. The Pentagon's strategic control system experiences a technical malfunction that erroneously causes an order to be sent to a B-58 squadron on a routine training mission. The flight crew is instructed to fly beyond its fail-safe distance and prepare to bomb Moscow. As the planes near their target, the crisis deepens, and together the Americans and Soviets decide on a final, desperate solution.

Re: Wow.... who's seen.

I haven't seen that one. There's an early '80s movie...The Day After, I think is the name of it. It's a "what-if" movie where the full scale nuclear holocaust takes place. Movie covers from a day or two before, for a week or two afterward. It'll make you glad it didn't happen.

Re: Wow.... who's seen.

I think I remember on I love the 80s doing something about that. And this one comedian was talking about it, and it was sooo funny. He was saying how all there was left to eat was Snausages and well you had to be there.

I dunno, I just got into it.

I think it started when I watched the "Original" War of the Worlds. I think the story telling was done much better back then.

After I saw War of the Worlds I started renting other old classics I've never seen before. Currently my netflix queue is this:

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (For kicks)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (New version to compare to the old)

Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Heard is was good until the last scene which no one liked)

Casablanca (Never seen this classic)

The Day the Earth Stood Still (Another classic)

Chinatown (Another classic I've never seen)

Forbidden Planet (Plot sounds interesting, old film)

The Thing From Another World (Heard this was a must see for old school sci-fi)

Metropolis (Very old silent film of a look to what the future would look like)

Das Boot (Apparently this has been rated as the best World War 2 film made)

It Came From Outer Space (Another old cheesey sci-fi from the 50's)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (This one creeped out my dad when he first saw it)

Soylent Green (The ending has OBVIOUSLY been given away by everyone who has and hasn't seen it, but I want to watch it anyway)

Gattaca (Meh, what the hell)

Vertigo (Hitcock's best I hear, next to psycho)

Re: Wow.... who's seen.

Seen it, fail safe is a real thought provoker. But shows hollywoods morbidity regarding all things nuclear.

I like old movies, back when hollywood made things worth watching, not like today's rerun hash and remake crap.

Re: Wow.... who's seen.
