Re: Should I do this?

Looks good. I'd say paint the bumber and do the inserts and tint before you actually paint the bezels and see how that looks. If it's to much black then paint them.

Re: Should I do this?

it will be to much black to have it all blacked out with painted bezels and tint

You could just buy 96-98 tails and have a better looking end result all around

Re: Should I do this?

most people dont notice, but look at the first page at zims stang's backend. There is no 3rd brake light in the trunk, its made into the spoiler. most know the spoiler has one but never thank about ford removing it from the trunk :chin:

Re: Should I do this?

i ordered my bumper iserts on ebay so they should be here soon. Whenever its warm and not windy ill be painting the bumper. I already tinted the tails... so its starting to come along.

Also, I dont like tips any bigger than what I have on the pre99s. They look stupid IMO

What kind of paint are you using? i'd suggest krylon fusion satin black. I used it on my interior and it looks great and makes things easy. If you use just a couple of light coats it wont be shiney at all.

Re: Should I do this?

if you paint outside or even inside, unless you are in a booth, you will get some lint in the paint~ just the way it is

If he can park it in a garage and spray the floor with water it should keep most dirt and what not out of the paint. Or if he can paint it then cover it with some plastic that would be good too. It'll dry in 15 minutes so I would say just tape off a plastic garbage bag and then once you have painted it tape it mostly closed over it.

Re: Should I do this?

This is just a thought Zim... not sure if you have considered it or thought about it at all. I was just thinkng about this thread and wondering what all you said would look like. Overall I think you have a good path you are headed in, but hear me out.

After looking at your rear tail lights and contemplating what they would look like paitned black or blacked out with tint, etc etc, have you considered 96 year, 97 year, or 98 year tail lights with the bezel. You could of course paint the bezel to black or to match your car, as well as tint the tail lights if you wished. Its hard to believe but people buy them off of www.ebay.com for pretty cheap. They are also a near direct bolt up. You can then use a blinker kit to make them all light up cool, the ones you have wont look very cool lighting up from top to bottom or bottom to top IMO.

I know you probably have not thought of this mod much but its just something that came to me over some cap'n crunch.
