Re: What do you consider to be the most important aspect of a car?

do we just have to pick 1 ? how about a car that looks great w/ good power and handling ? If i had to pick just 1 though it'd be brute power.

Power is useless without control.
Handling can get you around corners more efficiently than power.

I'm the 3rd for Reliability/Price. If you have that, and given a decent platform, you can always do the rest yourself.

Guess that's why I'm a foxbody guy.

I put handling but really it is Reliable performance and handling. I see no need to mod my car to the point of always having to work on it. That is why I stopped where I am. I have more than enough power for the mountain roads. I spend little time at the drag strip. I wanted and have a no effort V6 mustang with near doubled Horsepower and great handling with only general maintenance to worry about. I take my car everywhere without worry of breakdown. Everything on my car is modified ford parts or parts easy to come by. What has prevented me from power adders is availability. If you have something go wrong on the road with a supercharger what would you do. Autozone does not carry that kind of stuff. If you were traveling you would be **** out of louck and dead in the water getting a rental to carry on with your trip.

Just something to think about in a daily driver

Looks are understood and dont really need to be questioned this is a mustang site and you have a Firebird. We all like good looking cars here with few exceptions

Re: What do you consider to be the most important aspect of a car?

I put looks, but i wish looks/power were in the same category. I just like really nice looking cars with 3-500hp before some pile of crap 60's rustbucket that has 900hp with a full cage and huge slicks.

but those are so much fun! my friend's uncle has a POS looking primered vega, pop the hood and you see a ford 460. it runs deep into the 9's and will pull the wheels all day long.

Re: What do you consider to be the most important aspect of a car?

Ah the sleeper look.

A rusty POS looking car that waxes you.

My favorite.

You want looks, get a girl friend.

You want nothing more than reliability buy a Honduh.

Re: What do you consider to be the most important aspect of a car?

wheels are the most important aspect of a car. without them, it cant really do much of anything. some say engine, but you can still move a car without a engine, just not as fast, but you cant go anywhere without wheels....
