Never again:

I will never, as long as I live, ever get anything shipped through UPS ever again. Ever. This damn distribution center in Huntsville is actually the center for incompetence. I should have known when they left nearly $2000 worth of my computer parts on my neighbor's front porch. This time, though, they sealed the deal.

This morning, I checked on the progress of my package (scheduled to be delivered today) and this is what I saw: (see attachment) . Strange, I thought, as I called their customer service. The lady with customer service was helpful, told me she'd get in touch with the distribution center and have them deliver it today or let me come by and pick it up. She got my phone number and said the distribution center would call me. About half an hour (or so) later the phone rings. Some guy on the other end from UPS tells me they can't find my package. He thinks it's loaded at the front of a truck. The truck won't be unloaded 'til Monday. 2: "Are you kidding?" I ask. He assures me that he's not. He then tells me that there's nothing he, or I, or anybody else can do about it. I'll just have to wait 'til Monday and hope they find it. I called customer service, they apologized (which the other guy never did) and confirmed that I would just have to wait. And the doctor wonders why I've got high blood pressure.

I will never get anything shipped through UPS again. Even if it costs me twice as much to get another carrier.

Re: Never again:

oh god ups can kiss my ***

i got a new phone and changed wireless providers, but when i did so, they told me that my phone would be delievered on friday. people were at my house all day. even when i left, i would call and ask to see if any packages came. nope.

finally, after sitting around the house when i got back, i went downstairs and found a note on the door saying that they were here and that no one was...wtf? someone was there all day, plus, the attempted time of delievery was when all 4 roommates were here. they didn't knock, they didn't even ring the door bell.

the best part was, my phone got deactivated, and the new provider activated my phone without me even having it. i went the weekend without a phone (which i need cause i have clients so i'm kinda always on call, even on the weekends), and had to take that monday off to sit around and wait for it. they gave me a time span of 10:30am-sometime after 5...way to destroy my day and i missed a day of work

Re: Never again:

I just spent 3 hrs on the phone with UPS they lost my shippment !!!! I got the 19" flat panel .But they lost the CPU .The center in Orlando Fl says it was sent to the service center in Clearwater Fl .Clearwater tells me they never got it
The ****in tracking system is useless according to the tracking info it been on the truck since friday !!! all they keep doing is changing the delivery date
I finally got Dell to do a internal tracking on the shipment .Dell called just back and gave me the news that UPS has no idea where the shipment is & that Dell will build a new system in 48 hrs ( they have to wait for UPS to pay the claim to dell) and ship it out to me overnight by DHL

Re: Never again:

UPS does suck. Not my local center but the Hub in Greenboro NC where everything goes. They lost or someone there was stealing computer stuff off of the line there. I had 3 sets of parts disappear from there. They shipped some parts going to Maryland to California and let them sit for 3 months. I also had them leave computer parts nex door to my house which was vacant. I reported them a no show when they said it was delivered. About 2 months later I was cutting through the vacant houses yard and looked at the front porch area that was ovewrgrown with bushes but I could see boxes up there. I went and looked and low and behold there was the computer stuff and more!!! It was like christmas WOOHOO!!!!

Re: Never again:

I wrote them an email:

I am completely dissatisfied with your delivery service in Huntsville, AL. When $2000 worth of my computer equipment was left on my neighbor’s front porch, I should have known that I should have started dealing with another company for my shipping needs. The latest debacle is likely to have been the last straw.

I had a package of car parts that was shipped from West Chester, PA on 3/16. The scheduled delivery date was today (3/21). When I checked the tracking information this morning I was surprised to see that its status was “Exception”. On the detail listing, it was listed as “THE RECEIVER REQUESTED A HOLD FOR A FUTURE DELIVERY DATE. UPS WILL ATTEMPT DELIVERY ON DATE REQUESTED;DELIVERY RESCHEDULED”. Since I had done no such thing, I called customer support. The lady to whom I spoke with at your customer support center was helpful and nice. She informed me that she would get in touch with the distribution center and either get it delivered today or let me pick up the package there. She then took my phone number and said the distribution center would contact me shortly. Sure enough, I received a call from the support center within a few minutes. The man at the support center informed me that he could not find my package. He said that it was likely loaded on a truck and would not be unloaded until at least Monday. After assuring me that he was not kidding, he let me know that there was nothing he, nor I, nor anyone else could do about it.

This level of incompetence is totally unacceptable. If this is how your company treats its customers, I would rather pay twice as much for another carrier. If something is not done to rectify this situation, I will never do business with UPS again.

Re: Never again:

Hm...we could do a sitewide ban on UPS, I wouldn't mind spending a few more dollars to make a point that I have a choice. Depending on their response I may write my own letter.

Re: Never again:

they are probably making cutbacks at UPS to meet the growing as prices and they are firing the experienced people and hiring losers... thus you get crap for service.

Re: Never again:

Hmm... I've never had a problem with UPS, and I couldn't even begin to remember all the stuff I've had shipped through them. I'd much rather ship UPS than Fed-Ex, that's for sure.

Also, a site-wide ban by us against UPS would have absolutely zero effect on them. It's not exactly a mom-and-pop operation. I would recommend something a little more agressive... like maybe... burning a distribution center to the ground??? Then, you might get their attention.

F UPS, F DHL, and F FedEx.

All of them have lost packages on me. DHL lost a 260 dollar Steel Battallion Xbox game/controller I shipped to someone in Florida, they guy ended up getting his money back and I never got my stuff back...

UPS speared my hood with a forklift...

Fedex sent a birthday present to a different state, same town name.... Incompetence pisses me off.

Re: Never again:

We've had several problems with UPS. And they seem to have slowed down considerably. A package coming from California is taking a full 7 day week to get here. Regular snail mail could have done that and would have been cheaper probably. UPS was the big shot for a long time and so their service slacked off becasue it was either them or the post office. Now we have more options so they'd better step up.

Re: Never again:

Miracles do happen !! UPS showed up with my computer,if it wasn't for Dell starting a internal tracking of the shipment which cause UPS to start there own investagation .I would of never got it !!
Funny how the shipping label was torn off the package and the shipment had been gone thru & then sealed up with cheap tape .,I know for a fact both Dell & UPS use a security tape
My guess is whoever had it didn't want to deal with getting busted IMO

This belongs to another company. They reported it as lost in transit. When you get the correct one we will set up to return the one you did receive. Your new order number is 884718133.

Re: Never again:

Dear Mark,

We regret to inform you that wild dogs have recieved your package at your Huntsville Alabama loading dock due to an unforseen "dog fighting" tournament that was scheduled by the UPS ground delivery and truck loading crew. We appologize for your delay and we hope you will continue to ship with UPS even though we only have half a brain. On a side note the defending champion "T-REX" has retained his title as the Dog Fighting Champion again. If it helps T-REX really seemed to enjoy urinating on your package after he won the battle.

Once again we are sorry but we really dont care, your screwed. Thanks and remember UPS for all your shipping needs!

Yours Truly,
Senior Mortgage Cartgage

Re: Never again:

A company I previously worked for shipped UPS for one summer. Product was packaged in QVC approved (if you ever try to have a package certified with QVC you will appreciate this) packaging. UPS managed to damage/destroy at least 85% of our shippments. Did not pay ONE SINGLE CLAIM either. Claimed "insufficient packaging"..?! We switched to FedEx and had maybe 1 out of 50 pkgs damaged.
The monkeys at UPS do not ship stuff for me anymore either.
