yeah i have to agree. the only time he held a actual beat for more than 3 cycles was towards the end.

Amazing. Im speechless, I dont know maybe you guys have never sat down and tryed out a drum set before, but it is actually pretty damn hard to hit all the toms and symbols in sync with using both of your feet to hit the bass drum, I used to be in a band and after practice I always use to **** around on the drum set, and man, it looks alot easier than it is, that kid is amazing, all I can say.

Re: holy crap this kid has skills!

i have. and while im not the best, i can still hold a beat down for a long period of time. anyone can hit random cymbals and drums and sound like he did.

its still badass that hes so young and knows where everythign is though and knows what sound everything makes and knows when to hit the right drum to make the right sound he needs. that imo is the hardest part. coming from a bassist to a guitarist and now a drummer is a very hard thing to do, cause you want to go very fast but the faster you try to hit things the more ****ed up you make it for yourself and the rest of the people following your lead(aka bandmates).

no, not anyone can hit random cymbals and drums like that. as a drummer i realize how amazingly difficult some of the things he did in that was. the speed, the precision, i bet even drum masters would say that kid has major skills. by the way, thats the point of drum solos.. to hit random things that sound good together.. its not about keeping steady song like beats. my roommate who is a much better drummer than i also agrees that kid "has more skill at drums than i ever will"

Re: holy crap this kid has skills!

The kid definitely has some skills, but I also agree that it would have been more impressive if he would have had a little more continuation in it.

BTW, here is a link to a movie of Danny Carey of Tool who I think is probably the best drummer playing today. It's not his best work ever, and it starts out kind of slow yet picks up towards the end. Oh yeah... listen for time signature changes (which are quite difficult) and watch for the gong.
