Re: real quick

its a fact, they must prove the mod in question caused the damage else they must go by the warranty.

what does an intake have to do with a transmission gear being lost? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!11ONE!!11!

there was actually an article about this in the new MMFF magazine... the june 06 issue... the actual law is called the "Magnuson-Moss Warranty Improvement Act" and it states that your warranty is not void unless an aftermarket part is proven to have directly caused warranty covered issue

my first advice would be to have her take it to a different ford dealership... then she'll know if it was just the first dealer being dicks... hopefully they haven't voided her warranty in the system, otherwise it'll be a long and twisty road for her

Re: real quick

Tell her to grow some balls and tell them to fix her car b/c the intake has absolutely nothing to do with her transmission. Some dealerships are just dicks about stuff though and will not work on a car. Like the local dealership here, they refuse to do anything on my car. I go down the road 30 minutes to the SVT dealer and they love working on the thing for some reason.

Re: real quick

Stuff like that is why I'm afraid to do anything to the 06. If I was going to be living here it wouldn't be a big deal, because I know a lot of people at the dealerships, and it wouldn't be a problem. But I have no idea what they're going to be like in Texas...

I'd be seriously pissed if I did a CAI/tune and something messed up on my car and they refused to fix it.

Re: real quick

Where did she take it? She needs to go to All Star in gonzalas....I can get her in touch with the right guy. They are mod friendly period...whether it is related or not (since he is the service manager and owns a modded 03 cobra and a modded lightning )

If she took it there....let me know and we can get he in touch with the right dude. I am almost guessing she went to the old audobon didn't she? Or was it hollingsworth?

Re: real quick

ford is cutting back everything now, they pay mechanics HALF per job. They pay .8 hours for a front and back brake job including machining the rotors. They used to pay 5... they have cut back seriously on their payout and they are trying to get out of ANY warranty work.

it was the old audubon ford........once i showed them my fuel pump was acting up, i got no trouble from them to fix it. i think its b/c they think they can get one over on her.

all star in gonzales is pretty cool, my buddy kerry works there and did a machine tranny flush with 15qts of royal purple for only like $220.........if i were to do it, thats how much just the tranny fluid would have costed. he was telling me about that guy too with the modded cobra and lightning, but one of those guys is a dick. when i had my fuel pump issue, kerry told me he made a comment like "its all this aftermarket **** he's got done........" 2: an intake, pulley and exhaust????

Try less than half.........My warranty times are usally about 30% of my customer pay times. I guarantee you that the way it keeps going there will not be new blood getting into a once rewarding career.
