Want to buy some books.. what is everyone reading?

I am going to pick up the Da Vinci Code tomorrow and wanted to know what you all are reading so I can get 1 or 2 more while I am there.

I'm currently reading business statistics, should be breaking out the marketing books tomorrow night. These seem to be very interesting.

I need a good fiction author. Either bio fiction or even a little sci fi that's not just out there in left field.

Re: Want to buy some books.. what is everyone reading?

fiction:

1) "outbound flight" by timothy zahn... yes, it's a star wars book, but zahn is a plot twisting mastermind. you won't be disappointed if you read any of his books, star wars or not

2) "angels & demons" by dan brown... better than da vinci code, imo. it's the book that came out before it. the plot is more intricate, and the twists are excellent

nonfiction:

1) "a case for a creator" by lee strobel... a former athiest investigates the evidence of science in an attempt to disprove god, but end up convinced that god exists. actual interviews with some of the world's foremost scientists

2) "a case for christ" by lee strobel... a former athiest investigates the historical reliability of the bible from 14 different angles... actual interviews with some of the world's foremost scientists and historians

3) "a case for faith" by lee strobel ... a former athiest investigates the 8 barriers to faith, interviewing several renowned philosophers

i've read all of these, and enjoyed them immensely...

Thanks. I was recommended Angles and Demons too

A Case for a Creator sounds good as well.

So has anyone here actually read the Da Vinci Code yet, and if so, is it worth the time?

I let movies screen good books for me. If its a good book they will make a movie out of it. Thats a fact right there I dont care who you are.

How could I forget Kurt. If you want a book that has no chronological order, and really makes you pay attention so you can at least have a slight idea of whats going on, he is it. I have read Slaughterhouse 5 and Galapagos and loved em.

Re: Want to buy some books.. what is everyone reading?

Chuck Palahniuk:

Fight Club
Choke

Hunter S. Thompson:

The Rum Diary
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Read em. You'll enjoy every bit of it. Chuck's stuff is funny and twisted. Hunter's is kinda the same way, but once you start reading it you start to realize the truth about the reasons we do things in life that you never really looked at in Hunter's way.

You'll enjoy them, and these are must haves. Don't jump on the Da Vinci Code band wagon

I picked these three up today:

The Da Vinci Code, 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is #37) by Bernard Goldberg, Because He Could by Dick Morris

Should keep me busy for awhile.
