Our relationship is strong we are both saving money on our own from our salarys, and by the ime home buying comes we will use that as a down. She makes like double what i do so she's a keeper.

That is one of the stupidest things I have heard.

I just think one should mod their car if they can afford it and not if they have to work long hours just to support the mod bug.

Meh, he does not have to take my advice. He could do whatever he wants, I just thought I would insert my opinion on this madness.

the van down by the river is a throw back to Chris Farley from an SNL sketch.

also, I think whatever he wants to do for his mod money is up to him... so long as it's legal.

Re: first time donating plasma....

I remember the first and last time donating blood. It was for my high school and I just HATE needles but decided to get over that fear and just do it. So I lay down and they put the needle in my arm and its goin all good, then this nurse comes over to clamp off the tube that is connected to the bag. Clamps it off and hooks up these little tubes for testing, so he clamps that part off and turns around to put them away. While his back is turned my friend is directly across from me, looks at me with this disgusted look, and and starts to signal me to look down. I look down and there is this nice big puddle of my blood that is streaming out of the tube that the guy didnt clamp down hard enough. The guy turns around in shock with a "holy ****" look and clamps off the tube again and gets some other nurses to help him to mop up my blood.
I didnt even get to take a picture of all the blood hat was on the floor. Oh well

I agree, having money saved on the side has saved my butt more than once. It may seem like you have no money to spend, but just wait till you have to buy another car, or a house. You'll be glad you have that money there for padding.

and i am not exactly working long hours.......i work 10hrs a day or more at least one day a week, and if i even get that second job (waiting on a confirmation call) then that will be on tues/thurs nights, i think saturday nights till 11 and maybe sunday afternoon.........that still means i can do whatever i want wed night, friday night, and later saturday night (if i work 3 10s at my primary job)

Re: first time donating plasma....

O, and I have to say this, just because someone mentioned donating blood. DO IT. Did you know that if you or someone in your immediate family has donated blood in the last 6 or 12 months (i forget which), then if you need a transfusion it won't cost you a dime. Otherwise, it can get very expensive. I was given 14 units of blood, luckily I had given blood just 1 week before lol. Giving blood is one of the greatest things you can do, I give blood religiously.

Re: first time donating plasma....

yeah definately put the money aside for something bigger...for example, buying a house. i do mortgages, and i'm working with people who have NO money to put down, and nothing saved. its hard to approve them because they are a liability that they may not pay their mortgage--you want to at least put down 10% if not 20% when u buy a house. when u do that, the interest rate goes down, you end up saving even MORE money, and your mortgage gets paid off quicker

so save your money. put a certain percentage away and then have some of around to play with...thats what i'm doing
