The Mach is costing us 700 a month between car payments, insurance and gas.We want both of our cars paid for.The 2 acres I purchased paid for.She will get the house she wants and I'll get the 40x40 shop I want. I promised her a BMW after a year in the house.

Yes,it'll be a custom home.About 2500-2700 sq ft single story. We figure it'll cost around 200-220k Which is like a 300-350k home where you are.

just watch the type of loan u get for construction...cause they'll treat it like a balloon loan, where at the end of building, u either have to pay it off or refinance--and refinancing can be a ***** sometimes

Oh yeah,I know all of that. The land is on a ballon loan for 5 years but it will be paid for before we build which should be a 1 1/2 to 2 years at the most.I'll most likely finance with the Texas Veterans Land Board or the VA since i am a veteran and we will finace for 15 years. That would put the house paid for before I am 55.I'll be 37 in a few weeks........

Re: Picked up a new ride this weekend......

Sounds like a good deal with the house man... my dad paid his house off 4 years ago. When my grandpa passed away, his will stated that all his kids houses will be paid off. Needless to say, that helped out a lot now that hes got kids in college...
