Re: Ricer Excuse T-Shirt

A win is a win but you have many interpretations of what constitutes a win. Some say its who ever gets to point B the fastest, others say its who gets to a given point in the shortest amount of time. There are may variances in calculating such a thing. From a strict scientific approach the ONLY way to correctly calculate and determine which car is faster is to do a standing 1/4th mile time from a full stop at Point A to a pass at Point B where the timmer only starts the calculation (iteration forumla using the many sensors on the track) after the vehicle begins to move. This eliminates reaction time, the human imperfection factor, and allows for a more unbiased approach.

Guess next time someone revs at me at a light, ill have to say "this isnt scientific, we need to go to the track"

What also ruins your entire "the track is scientific" theory is the fact that at the track, there is just as many variables as on the street. All youre eliminating is the distance and traffic. Head wind, tail wind, track conditions, humidity, tempurature, barometric pressure, driver abailities, elevation...the list goes on.

Sounds to me that you have a dyno queen mentality.

Re: Ricer Excuse T-Shirt

I dont have a dyno queen mentality I have a scientific mentality. The main factor that the track has that the street does not is correct times (same percentage off on each car as we know track tims are also not 100% accurate), if both cars are there at the track at the same time under the same conditions then they will both have the same variables countering/helping their vehicle. Even then there are variables that can react to each car differently. So you will have to decide how to control this sort of situation. Its not as simply as line up and go.... at least not if you want to know which car is actually faster at acceleration.

The driver is also a major factor... as you see there are many things that come into play so I am just trying to eliminate as many as possible. Dyno numbers mean jack crap with out the ability to use them and the many other factors that play a role in how the car runs from weight to weight transfer etc etc.

This is just going in a straight line... imagine the variables in autox.... most dont think of such things they are to narrow minded. "hey I am in front of that guy so I beat him, my car is faster and I win!"

The cars will be monitored and their real times recorded so you can see who went from point a to point b the fastest.

Wrong. Ever been to the track, and one lane is stickier than another? One lane has water down the 60ft from people not doing burnouts properly? One lane needing cleanup because someone blew up and oiled the track?

The track is not the end-all-be-all for scientific measurements.
