Re: Very cheap T-56 trannys

hrm even if they need to be rebuilt, if i remember the viper spec rebuild kit is about half the price of a new t56 from ford.

added to favorites. ill keep a watch on this, if funds allow.......

what do you need to get it working in a GT? id assume a cobra clutch and flywheel.

his is a great chance to get a T56 for a very affordable price to either have as a spare or to do a conversion. To complete the conversion you need to change to a 27 spline yoke, shorten or buy a new driveshaft, and upgrade your cross-member. These transmissions have the electric speedometer but you can use these transmissions in cars with mechanical speedometers but you have to buy a Speed Cal to get your speedometer to work correctly.
There is probrobly more to it than that though...

Re: Very cheap T-56 trannys

yea you need a bellhousing I think, not sure though.. may just be on 5.0s. You also need a driveshaft and other this and thats~ I think the input shaft will have to be changed as well.
