Re: Service employees?

I have 3 industries that I will never work in unless I absolutely have to: food service, retail, and hospitality. You gotta do what you gotta do though, I'm sure you make good tips working at the bar too.

Re: Service employees?

The old lady is a manager at one of the local speedway's and it's horrible. I went in there today and she'd already been there 12 hours, and she didn't look like she'd be able to leave for a few more hours. Going to see her at work is one of the reasons I hate the public.

Yikes! It does sound rough indeed. I'm an IT guy that's been outta work since last July, I'm not looking forward to changing fields, but as stated above, and we all know, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Keep the faith....

Re: Service employees?

I can relate.. Retail isn't that bad. I'm in specialty running. I have customers that try to argue about what the Dr. Scholls machine at wal-mart told them, and what I'm telling them. Well the machine said I prontae (roll to the inside) and your saying, I'm neutral things just aren't adding up here.

No really, I've got 3 trained people who happen to agree with me. All we do every day is fit people for the right shoes. We have 90+ stores nationwide, I think we know what were doing. ERR..

Yeah generally I make good money. The painful part is having a college degree and not being able to use it. I am in the process of starting my own company so hopefully I wont be doing this much longer. But I will be working with the public again.

Thats tough man, I feel bad for ya. I have been telling myself this whole time that while it is under paying, at least I have a job. It has to be hard not being able to work.
