Haha..and when you get the xcal, you can run 87 again. Actually...to tell the truth, I've been running 93 here recently, no long trips.

Hahahah, I'll bet. Just for fun I set my gears to 4.10 with the stock rear end still in. I was doing 3500 rpms at what it said was 70 mph, that was funny.

youll be fine running 87 as long as you dont get into the throttle too hard... I run 87 on my car when i drive on the highways or i know i wont be doing any racing for a while... My timings up at 14* too so i should be running higher octane

Re: Just filled up with 87... for the first time in 2 years...

i dont even think the timing they give you with the tunes are good enough to need 91.

when i first installed the diablo tune, i ran 91, till i went down to so-cal. i filled up with 87 in my town, since i know i have to fill back up again before the grapevine, and that would need to be 91 or better. well i wasnt gonna get into the throttle on the 4 hour flatland drive to the end of the ****hole valley, but i did anyways out of sheer curiousity, and no ping and it was just as fast.

now im +10 on timing and all the way lean on fuel and i NEED 91 or else....

I have to run AT LEAST 91. 93 would be better but it can be hard to find around here.

Are you serious? I haven't seen anything but 93 Premium at all these stations around here. Cowboy's has 91, 92, and 93 Premium at their station on Jordan Lane...but their 93 octane makes my car ping like three rocks in a coffee can. The ****ed up thing about that, the owner's manual for my car says that you have to run at least 87, but for optimum performance 91 or better. So it shouldn't audibly ping on 87, even. But it pings like crazy on Cowboy's 93. :dunno:

Yeah there's not too many places in Athens that have 93. There's a few but they are pretty expensive. That's where I end up going most of the time, but it gets pricey.

I ran 93 on my 87 tune and it missed like a mofo. Haven't gotten brave enough to try 87 on the 93 tune lol.
