If I had it to do over again

I was contemplating over the last few days if I had to do it over again would I have bought a GT or Cobra. After careful thought and looking indepth at what I have done with my car. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. If I had a Cobra or a GT that is all I would have had. But since I modded a V6 I get more positive comments and accolades about modding a V6 than you can imagine. The only negative comments are from ******** and ricers. But where I live the word is out and they know they better bring something worth while if you want to mess with me.

I am pleased with what I have. I have no regrets and have no envy towards other who have Gt's, Cobra's or any other bad *** car. I can carve canyons up and can run with GT's and can smoke most imports. What else can I ask for. So as of today with the exception of some minor tweaking and detailing I am pretty much through with my stang.

Good luck to all and be happy

im sure if you got the gt it wouldnt have been just a gt for long. all you did to the 6er probably would have been done equally to a GT.

its not about what you have its about being happy with it, it doesnt matter if its a rocket ship or red flyer wagon as long as you are happy with it. As people get older (old) they become happier with what they have.

This thread should have only contained the words: "... I would have kept the Flowmasters."

Actually before you guys were out of kindergarden or not even born I was building hotrods for me and others to impress people. I wanted to build the fastest car in the circle of hotrodders I hung around and achieved that with a 600hp very streetable 1978 Z-28 with a 150 shot of Nitrous which on a dyno put out 748 HP. It was a beast I had several Z-28's that I built it was the badest personal car I built, but actually I like my little ol V6 better than that car. Mainly because it in terms of money has not been that costly and I have fun in it. I racked up 15 tickets in my Z-28's including one for going 165 on a stretch of interstate when the speed limit was 55. The State Trooper was a elementary school friend of mine and made it for 75mph. I thanked him for that. That is another reason I am called Danger Dude. There are others

Re: If I had it to do over again

If I had to do it again, I would not have gotten the 64. I spent so much money trying to make that thing a nice looking and well running DD just to tear it apart and go down the path I am headed now. It just wasn't logical, I should have had a plan from the start. I've sure had a helluvalot of fun though. Oh, and I still got some flowbastards on my ride, haha.

Re: If I had it to do over again

I'm glad I upgraded from the 97 v6. the new edge GT is a better platform to start from IMO but I have nothing against anyone who can make a v6 quick.

It is the same platform, the same interior with different body panels and ?????

The only real platform changes were from 65 to 74 to 79 to 2005

Virtually no real changes to the plateform went from 79 to 2004 as far as basic design the length and width of the frame changed but really nothing else

But I'm glad you are happy!!!

that is correct.

the only thing wrong with the 4.6 PI engines is the weaker internals. It would be quite spiffy if ford would have gone forged so I won't have to spend a bunch of money to go that route... Then again, I may just leave this engine and see if it lasts me a while.

If i had to do it over...i would have kept my dodge, and found a place to store it.

I keep my eyes open for another 4-door k-car to guy, put a cage in, hack out the dash, and build a monster turbo engine. Big old slicks up front, skinnies in the rear. Easy to build an 11 second k-car if you know what youre doing.

Thats the point. Id get myself some of the widest steelies i could find, paint them black, or body color, throw some chrome trim rings and the baby moon center caps on em up front, and do the same, but with the skinniest i could find in the rear, paint it something like refridgerator white, battle ship gray, or something that is cheap, easy to clean, and durable, and just make the thing fast. No matter what happens, someone would step up, and someone would get hurt.

Thats the fun of it all. Some hot shot is sitting there in his vette, you throw a rev, make a little turbo noise, he goes to show off, and gets his *** handed to him. Woops.

You know if I had a Z06 and a K car beat me I would probably stop the K Car and get out and talk to the driver for a minute and then kill him and light his car on fire and put the body in the car MUHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA no one would ever know!!!!!!

except that now you have the smoldering remains of a k-car and a charred body with your DNA all over it, and your ZO6 tire marks leaving the scene, which they will trace to a certain brand and find out who in the area sells it, trace that down to a list of people who bought it, and match one of those on the list with the DNA on the body.

i just solved a crime in 10 seconds. you suck @ teh coverup.

You watch to many TV shows. Remember I live in South Carolina. The CSI unit if there is one is chasing down major crime. A charred K Car with almost no body parts but teeth would not be a big deal

Re: If I had it to do over again

I am glad I learned on Muscle cars of the 70's cause it makes me feel comfortable driving a modded V6 now. I have nothing to prove. Just enjoy carving roads up in my nimble stang
