Re: Need some help with this internet thing

Https indicates an SSL secure connection where as a general http connection is wide open. It also changes the port number on the computer/router/etc the request goes through...but that might be more than you are looking for.

Re: Need some help with this internet thing

This is the Server Administrator™ default page.

If you see this page it means:

1) hosting for this domain is not configured
or
2) there's no such domain registered in Plesk .Plesk - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

https is a URI scheme which is syntactically identical to the http: scheme normally used for accessing resources using HTTP. Using an https: URL indicates that HTTP is to be used, but with a different default port and an additional encryption/authentication layer between HTTP and TCP. This system was invented by Netscape Communications Corporation to provide authentication and encrypted communication and is widely used on the Web for security-sensitive communication, such as payment transactions.

so why does it go to this makeup site? Is there something I need to configure with my host to block that?

Re: Need some help with this internet thing

Yeah sounds like your DNS or host header value is hosed. Contact whoever is hosting for you and let them know what's happening

Re: Need some help with this internet thing

Ken:

When you login to your FTP account you will see two few folders.

There are two that look similiar:

httpdocs and httpsdocs

The httpsdocs folder is for your https:// site.

You get the same thing if you do it to ME: https://www.mustangevolution.com

Don't worry about it as no one is going to type https in on purpose to get to the site.
