Talking Well I may have another mustang come springish

First off no its not replacing the truck i'm keeping it. However i'm about to trade my probe for a 95 ford taurus thats in REALLY good shape. It needs a new torqe converter and it should be good to go. Anyway i've been doing some researching on the value and in the condition it is and the fact it doesn't have high miles I should be able to get around 2500-3000 for it. So what i'm going to do is get it back on the road drive it for a little while and save up around 1-1,500 and sell it and buy a mustang. I'll be looking into a fox more then likely. Unless I can manage to find a 94-98 gt around that(damn near impossible without it having high mile).

I was considering getting the supercharger for my truck, but I wouldn't even be able to beat a stock 5.0 so I said screw that.

All I have to say is
:woo: :woo: :woo: :woo:

I personally would not buy a 96-98 gt get a 5.0 and have more, cheaper potential those year's 4.6 was rather sad.

What SC were you looking at that would prevent you from beating a stock 5.0?

The question is what s/c are you gonna put on a 3.0L ranger that actually WILL beat a stock 5.0?

Hope it works out for ya man, my vote goes for the 94/95 GT as well... they're the same motor as the fox, have all the same potential, are a little heavier but have a much stronger unibody (if thats possible)

Its much more rigid in the sn95 days than the fox days. Try driving over some bumps in a fox, then the same bumps in a sn95... WORLDS of difference.

My neighbor says pretty much the same thing. he says riding in his notch is scary compared to the later models.

yea the fox bodies are definatly less sound and flex a good bit more. To bad the new ones had to keep getting heavier and heavier.

I found a couple on autotrader, but all of them have 175k+ which is to many miles so i'll probably end up in a fox. I can find one under 80k for around 4k in awesome condition. So more then likely thats the way i'll be going.

There's not a whole lot out there to build up the 3.0 with. There is one guy who was sponsered by whipple with a regcab auto 3.0 and he had a few things done to it and was running around a 14.3 then he either blew his tranny or his motor i'm not sure which. The 3.0 is a strong motor, but not really for that kind of abuse. Anyway i'm looking into replacing the ranger sometime around next summer for a f150 4x4 more then likely so it's not really worth putting the sc on the ranger.

Re: Well I may have another mustang come springish

A fox with under 80k miles is gonna go for more than a 94/95 gt with under 80k on it... especially if its a notch. SN95 GTs dont go for much these days, if you look on autotrader and stuff you're gonna pay too much for it. Check out local message boards and things like that for a good deal.

You obviously haven't shopped for a fox in a while. For the car you describe... I'd say more like 6-7k.

It is MUCH easier to find nice 94-95 5.0s than a nice fox.

Re: Well I may have another mustang come springish

I'd really like to find a 94-95 gt, but no matter where I look I see them going for 5k+ with over 150k miles. Once in a blue moon I find one with less for the same price, but it's usally a few hundred miles away. Hell I'd even take a 79-86 fox if I could find a decent one.

I ALWAYS keep a 3k cushion in the 'ole bank account in case of emergencies anf "crap". I'm a little in the whole on it, so it'll be a while before I get to do anything.

My wallet is as it should be though, so I am very thankful for that

My wallet is usually empty. And when it isn't, there is never usualy more than 20 bucks in there.

UPDATE:

Step 1 is complete. My fiancee's brother came and got the probe. He should have the taurus back on the road within 2 weeks. Then i'll go and pick it up and step 2 will be complete.

Then a few months from now i'll turn around and sell it and buy me a mustang. Its getting closer an closer and I cant wait!!!!
