A couple bands i like, some might like

Most of the stuff that I listen to on a normal bases is Metallica, Godsmack, Static-X, Mudvayne, and bands like that. And when Im not listening to bands like that I normally listen to stuff like Evan's Blue, Crossfade, some Silvertide, and other bands similar. Nice mix of rock. For those that have Sirius, my radio typically stays on 20 Octane. For the most part heavier rock. Though i have always had a weird taste in music. You can tell for the most part what type of music i listen to by the station's names. My presets have been 19 Buzzsaw (classic rock) 20 Octane, 23 Hair Nation (gotta have the 80s hair bands) 28 Faction (skater channel mix of hip hop and rap) 60 New Country and 61 Prime Country

But recently I have been listening to rock that is more heavy. Been digging some metal recently. I have changed the Buzzsaw preset to Sirius 27 Hardattack. And have been listening to that a lot....also making me Drive fast and wanting to punch people a lot more though.

But I have found a couple bands that I have recently realized that I really like.

Atreyu and Bullet for My Valentine. Both are very good bands. Great sound. Just wanted to let yall know that havent heard of them to go check them out. If you go to launch.com and search them you can watch a couple of their videos...or just use your program of choice and download a couple songs.

do it

Re: A couple bands i like, some might like

I must say you have pretty good taste.

I've listened to some Atreyu before though and really didn't like it. Too much "screaming" for me. It just seemed a little forced to me.

I haven't actually heard any My Valentine yet though, but I'll definitely check them out.

In the meantime, you should check out some Tool stuff. Since you're into the harder stuff, I'd recommend anything off "Undertow" or "Ćnima". And of course, "Rosetta Stoned" off of their new album, "10,000 Days".

"Goddamn, **** the bed..."

thanks to Sirius, i have heard a couple songs off the new Tool CD. and what I have heard so far i must say i like the new stuff. In fact I hear a lot of Tool on Sirius...must say getting kinda tired of Vicarious though...here it about every other day i seems like.

and yes you need to check out Bullet for My Valentine...they are some good stuff.

A couple of Atreyu's songs do sound force. Occasionally you get the song where the screaming doesnt match the music like "The Crimson" but a good song none the less. you might like "Her Portrait in Black" they used it somewhere in the Underworld Evolution movie...dont remember where but in the special features they had the vid for it. It is a good song "Ex's and Oh's" has very little screaming. didnt think it was them at first. I find it amazing though that all the singing is done by the drummer. It is wierd watching some of the music videos. drummer just going at it and singing really well at the same time. I also like "Bleeding Mascara" and I really like their cover of "You Give Love a Bad Name"

I hear that. That's why I don't listen to the radio. I want to hear what I want, when I want to hear it. Vicarious is a freakin' awesome song, but I can imagine that even it would get old after hearing it all the time.

i dont listen to radio cause of commercials...i do say except for a few songs, most stations on Sirius do a good job about playing a lot of different stuff. I can drive from here to Montgomery and back and not here the same song. You get to hear a lot of smaller less known bands. How I found out about Atreyu and Bullet for my valentine

Pour the wine, light the fire
Girl your wish is my command
I submit to your demands
I'll do anything, girl you need only ask

Chorus:
I'll make love to you
Like you want me to
And I'll hold you tight
Baby all through the night
I'll make love to you
When you want me to
And I will not let go
Till you tell me to

Girl relax, let's go slow
I ain't got nowhere to go
I'm just gonna concentrate on you
Girl are you ready, it's gonna be a long night
Throw your clothes on the floor
I'm gonna take my clothes off too
I made plans to be with you
Girl whatever you ask me you know I'll do

Chorus

Baby tonight is your night
And I will do you right
Just make a wish on your night
Anything that you ask
I will give you the love of your life

Chorus

I listened to some Bullet for My Valentine today. I always thought by their name that they would be some kind of emo band or something, but they've got some good stuff. Still a little bit too much unnecessary screaming to me, but some of their songs are still pretty damn good.

In particular, I liked "Tears Don't Fall", "Curses", and "All These Things I Hate".

i saw atreyu in concert before.. it was a very good/crazy show. they definitely have stage presence. the bassist and rythym guitarist both got down on 1 knee and the lead guitarist jumped up on their knees and did a solo.. it was nuts.

dude i love that song. that whole album is badass, but that song is by far my favorite. our local site will be doing a 11 minute compilation to that song, since we can fit in alot of footage, and the way its structured gives each car its own section of the song. and they lyrics are just so awesome, i had to use a lyrics site to understand some parts, but man, its genius.

Tool is defanitely sweet. I also love Rage against the machine... tha music gets me so pumped up its insane. As far as harder rock though, the deepest Ill go is stuff like godsmack, listened to a little slipknot back in the day because they were from Iowa and toured around small areas for a summer... Saw them a couple times and jesus christ I will never try another concert like that on the floor again lol. Im really into classic rock stuff as of late, and I like the new pop style country stuff too.

Oh yeah, also just listened to a band called "The Raconteurs" and they're pretty good. The guy from the white stripes is in it, and its actually him with a full band. Pretty good stuff, short album though.

yeah, i got my hands on the new tool album. its really good.. i really like it.

its more than music.. its art.

i would consider tool a current day type pink floyd band where its just finely composed music with lots of mood.. more than your standard verse, chorus, verse, etc.

Yup, its a great album to listen to in an "altered state of mind" too (aka magic mushrooms)
