House Votes to Support Israel

Quote:
The House, displaying a foreign affairs solidarity lacking on issues like Iraq, voted overwhelmingly Thursday to support Israel in its confrontation with Hezbollah guerrillas.

The resolution, which was passed on a 410-8 vote, also condemns enemies of the Jewish state.

House Republican leader John Boehner cited Israel's "unique relationship" with the United States as a reason for his colleagues to swiftly go on record supporting Israel in the latest flare-up of violence in the Mideast.

At least we can unity on one thing. Too bad we can't get it when it involves our own troops.

sweet, the groundwork for WWIII has just been set. if israel doesnt stop the fighting(which i hope they dont intend to anytime soon) and someone tries to back lebanon/syria, that means all hell breaks loose.

They will condem the president about it later and say they were lied to...yadda yadda yadda...and then Kerry can say he voted for it before he voted against it again in the next election.

Re: House Votes to Support Israel

I'm sure I'll get jumped for saying this, but hey............ once again the US government gets it's citizens involved in a contest that they have nothing to do with because the government feels that they have "the need" to be the world's watch dog.

Nothing to do with it?

Clueless.

1982, Hezbollah, Beruit, U.S. Marines

Do a google search pal.

Inform yourself rather than inform everyone else you know nothing.

Re: House Votes to Support Israel

As you say, Beirut was 1982. This is 2006.... 24 year difference. The US had it's barracks bombed in 1983 or 84 (something like that), but that war ended in 1989 - there I fully support them going in to defend themselves.

What I'm saying is, what's happening over there right now is between Israel and Lebannon. I don't remember hearing about any of them attaking US property or soldiers in the last while, do you?

its kind of like a bar fight. your little buddy gets into it with another little guy, and you stand back and let it work out, but when the other little guy starts getting the upperhand, and a little help from other guys, of course you are going to jump in and help out.

Isreal is our little buddy.

So, you're saying we don't owe them any payback for the murders of our troops who were there to help make peace as part of a UN peacekeeping force.

So, your saying they aren't terrorists who need to be wiped off the face of the earth?

So, your saying they have no axe to grind with America or Americans?

Your ignorance is showing.

Hezbollah has been preaching death to America for years. Hezbollah has continued to conduct acts against America and America since 82. Hezbollah has no interest in peaceful coexistence with America, Isreal or any non-muslim country.

Now that you have been pointed to the facts you job is to research them and make a stand. There is a word for people who refuse do stand up and oppose them, it's called coward.

Steve

Re: House Votes to Support Israel

^^ Let's forget beruit for a minute and let's just look at this logically.

Terrorists: People who want to kill other non-combatants because of whatever radical reason to rid the world of all of those they don't agree with.

Eventually, they will target us in some fashion. Even if they don't, they are wastes of oxygen and need to be removed from the planet. Anyone that targets civilians to prove their point needs to be removed from the planet. Hezbola...they target civilians regularly. Remove them from the planet. Al Qaeda (sp?) target civilians. Remove them from the planet. It really is that simple. I don't care if Hezbo has targeted us now or in the past. They are like roaches and need to be exterminated. The logic really is that simple. If someone doesn't remove them, eventually, they will progress to targeting other friends...and eventually, us.

I say, destroy them now, or pay for it later. Let Bin Laddin be a prime example. Should have taken him down when we had him years ago. We didn't...we paid for it. Simple as that.
