Buying a 19" LCD monitor this weekend: widescreen or not?

I am getting a viewsonic, I know that, and don't care if you think its a good monitor or not, thats not what I am asking about. But should I get a widescreen or not?? I will probably be using it as my primary monitor and then use my tablet's monitor as a secondary (probably keeping itunes and AIM up on it most of the time). I am going to watch movies on the lcd also. Opinions anyone?

Re: Buying a 19" LCD monitor this weekend: widescreen or not?

on newegg about $200 for either widescreen or standard, in stores about $250. its pretty cheap but has a good picture (I like the picture on the higher end sony's better, but its twice the price). both the widscreen and standard are getting rave reviews on newegg.

Another question: buy online or pay the extra $40 or $50 to buy in a store so I can *hopefully* return it if it has any stuck pixels?

If it were me, I wouldn't get a widescreen. You plan on using it for gaming?

Re: Buying a 19" LCD monitor this weekend: widescreen or not?

Some games support widescreen natively, some (like FEAR) are real easy to make work on widescreen, some are probalby not so easy, and some probably can't.
