Bye Bye Iphone

and welcome HTC Incredible. This phone is amazing. Just got it in today. Screen is so much better than the iPhones and plus it doesn't have Apples restrictive app store.

Listening to Pandora in the background right now. Try to do that, iPhone users

Oh and is your bill cheaper sense you don't have to be on the special iPhone plan?

It's probably more expensive since he's on the Verizon plan.

Makes me want one.. the Incredible has better hardware.. I really want something with a slide out qwerty keyboard, I'm so much faster on that than with touchscreen - is there any hope?

Yeah the Motorola Droid. The only reason I got it instead of the HTC ERIS is the full qwerty keyboard.

Thats what I'm starting to do. It's too expensive to buy a new one every 2 years. Apple just lost my interest after this whole iPhone in a bar thing.

How did that lose your interest? I really like the look of the new one. Assuming that the official release matches the Gizmodo report.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

I use the HTC Hero and will be getting the EVO when Sprint lets it out of their hands..Android OS is definitely better than Iphone's. I can't imagine ever using and Iphone unless the 4th Gen comes to Sprint with 4G capabilities and a better OS to multi-task and operate. FYI some of you...IPhone 4G is not 4G capable..4G for the Iphone means 4th Gen.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

Brent does yours have the SnapDragon Processor?

Also... Sprint has the cheapest UNLIMITED PLAN! w/data roaming and talk roaming included. Also..just for you guys with the reception issue.. i have traveled across the states for the last 7 years i've been with sprint and always had service when someone else has whether im roaming their towers or not.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

Sprints network can't compare to Verizons. I wanted a solid reliable (3g) network and you can't beat Verizons. The Incredible does have the 1ghz snapdragon processor. Its so much more responsive than the iPhone.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

I can't see going to anything but At&t here, I have gotten excellent coverage from my Iphone. I know in a lot of other areas 3G is not available or poor. I used to have an old HTC phone and it was great and never thought of getting an Iphone. I got a touch and that is what convinced me.
I too got used to the keyboard on the HTC but have gotten to like the virtual keypad on the Iphone especially since it works in landscape.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

around here, verizon > att, but not by much.

with that said, i welcome any and all competition to the iphone. so far its really jump started a stagnant industry. just a few years ago, the god awful razr was the cool kid on the block.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

ATT is greater than anything in BR, but I find that New Orleans has a huge Sprint following.

I know Verizon has good 3G and data coverage I just can't make sense of paying for their service. I can't make sense out of leaving Sprint. I've been with them for 7 years, considered a 'premier' member and I pretty much get what I want with them. I never have any issues because they fix anything and credit me all the time over the amounts. Plus I still have a 23% corp discount from an old job I had before. I pay less than $150 for two lines with 1500 shared minutes (only from 6AM-6PM M-F) and a 3G aircard Data Plan after taxes and fees.

If I ever left I would probably go to Verizon for the phone selections.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

Rick, HTC has came a long way in the last few years. Just be sure to stay away from the Windows Mobile Phones and you'll enjoy it. I had a HTC with Win Mobile and it was slow, laggy, had issues, and I just didn't like how it operated. I would turn the 'phone' portion of the device off and not know it all day. So I wouldn't get phone calls all day with a phone in my pocket. Pissed me off. I could do everything I wanted with my phone but it would never ring or text unless I made sure the 'phone' was on.

Yes! And going after the guy who found it. Some things should have been done differently, i.e leave it with the restaurant manager, etc. The employee who lost it, should be held accountable mostly.

I've been with Verizon for 4 years this August. They have been great, no issues. The one problem with Sprint here is they loose coverage in some places downtown like the middle of the connector. From what I've been told. If I had that kind deal, I would keep it as long as I could. Sprint has one of the best aircard programs out there. They teamed up with Comcast here to offer home and mobile internet for like 65 dollars a month.

What is this, not only a Mustang site but an Android OS site? I don't know if I like that whole Sense UI or whatever, I think my Droid is where it's at, although the Incredible and many other Android OS phones are really nice.

It's a shame the Nexus One was a flop, but Android has officially outsold iPhone!

The HTC Incredible is an upgraded Nexus One. Its why Verizon decided not to carry the Nexus one.

Re: Bye Bye Iphone

I can't wait until a "rugged" smartphone hits the market for a reasonable price. I really want to get an Android-based phone, but I go through phones far too quickly. One of these: Casio G'zOne Cell Phones | Tough & Rugged Casio Mobile Camera Phones is coming to me soon, and I'm also getting an Olympus Tough camera in the next week or so. Hopefully now I can keep an electronic device for more than 3 months.

Also, my parents were telling me that their insurance company considers smartphones computers, so they added a rider to their insurance to cover their computers (which covers my mom and sister's blackberries and my dad's droid). It costs about $5 per phone per year with a $50 deductible. Saves $5/month/phone on their Verizon bill.
