itll prolly be 1000$ a pop when it first comes out. but just like dual cores, itll drop once it becomes more of the norm. hell you can get a AMD Dual core 2.4ghz for around 300$ now, even cheaper(last time i looked was around 4 months ago before their ATI buyout).

Re: AMD setting the pace again...

The top-of-the-line chips usually sell initially for $1,000-$1,200. How fast the price falls after that is variable. The FX-55 chip in my big clear box just now started to get reasonable, and it's two years old.

Re: AMD setting the pace again...

but amd is gonna have to cut their prices a lot if they want to stay competative with intel. ingenuity doesn't mean a lot if the prices cut out the middle class buyer

Re: AMD setting the pace again...

intels stuff is usually more expensive anyways, so AMD has nothing to fear.
