Re: Can the PS3 save Sony?

Sony is huge. They are having some issues but they are in everything now. The idea that Sony is going to go away is about as likely as finding Jimmy Hoffa's body!!!

Re: Can the PS3 save Sony?

I don't know, who is really willing to spend over $400 on the PS3?

The price alone scares college students because it's no longer in the safe zone in game consoles. And the price also scares the living **** out of parents! We'll see is I guess my answer :/

I know I'm not going to buy one. Too damn expensive...and I don't play on consoles, anyway.

Really?????2: People were paying $800 dollars and up for a Xbox360 last Christmas so dont tell me people are not going to by a PS3. Geeks are going to suck these up so fast the market on ebay will eclipse what people paid for the 360

Ok during what time though? Christmas. You don't see people putting their 360's up for that much now, the supply and demand method worked just fine and it always works fine during Christmas. I remember when PS2's were extremely hard to get like 2 years ago for some reason. We just never had any come into stock, the demand wasn't there until Christmas but before that happened it was too late.

The PS3's price will stay high throughout the year, the 360's price is at what..

$499.99 for the big bundle
20GB hard drive
•Two wireless controllers
•Built-in Ethernet port
•Photos, video and music
•Play & charge kit
•Project Gotham Racing 3

$399.99 for the "Premium" bundle
20GB hard drive
•Built-in Ethernet port
•Photos, video and music
•Wireless receiver
•HD-capable
•Headset

$299.99 for the core

The Playstation 3 will be at, what was the last price announced?

So I'm seeing their core will be $499.99... and their "Premium" will be $599.99..

And there will probably be a bundle pack on top of that which will cost in the $700's somewhere.

All I'm saying is I'd like to see where this goes with Sony, I don't know many people who are going to be waiting to buy the systems unless they are going to pawn off their old consoles.

I might be a sucker and buy one too, but that all depends on how much money I've got and it also depends on what games are going to be released with it. I don't want to buy this thing and realize I've only got 1 or 2 games I actually like until months later when things start actually rolling.

If it is at Christmas or not IT DOES NOT MATTER!!!! Nerds and Geeks are going to swoop them up and a bulk will put them on layaway till christmas. Listen it does not matter when. If it promises top of the line gaming geek/nerds will be standing in line to get one just like they do for any new game that is coming out or console. Cost does not seem to be a barrier except for sane people!!!!

Re: Can the PS3 save Sony?

eh they all suck.

360 wont have very good games to sell the console. i doubt many will buy a 360 just for Halo3 like they got the xbox for halo2, especially after the let-down halo2 was.

PS3 will still have the same-ol titles. and if you want to use the PS3 to its limits, youre talking games that take 2+ years to create. by the second run of games the console will already be old and tired.

Wii is just a joke. honestly, who wants to look like a ****** while they play games? if i want to do that, i can rent dance dance revolution.

I will be sticking to PC gaming for a while. FPS are more fast paced and multiplayer is better. Plus when the 7950GT's come down in price and they become more SLi stable, ill be getting 2, another 2gb of ram, and since my mobo is amd 939, i can still upgrade to dual-core.

Get you an AM2 motherboard and a decent dual core Athlon or Opteron. Then when the quad cores come out, you can decide if it's worth upgrading. They'll most likely come out in an AM2 flavor, I can't see AMD swapping sockets that quick. Dual 16x PCI-E is likely to be the standard for video cards for a few years. You'll have a great deal of upgrade overhead, before you have to change motherboards.

I heard Intel is coming out with the Quad core before AMD does?

**** Intel. I haven't been impressed with intel since the 2.4ghz P4C chips. The only reason they impressed me then was because it was such a value due to OC overhead.

Re: Can the PS3 save Sony?

i love my computer, i love my PS2, and the only reason i own an XBOX is cause i wanted Halo. (love ebay sometimes) only reason I got a gamecube, is cause i was in Tech school, i made the mistake of shipping my PS2 back home as I was leaving Shepherd AFB for Little Rock AFB. I wanted something to play and do, so i picked up the game cube for what, 149 or something like that. At least i had a football game, cause otherwise that thing would have never been touched.

Re: Can the PS3 save Sony?

i just cant play a console on a POS resolution TV even HDTVs are piss poor compared to where monitors have been for YEARS. I am sure there are great HDTV's out there but.... the cost is massive.

That big *** HDTV that I've got is 1080i, which works out to 1920x1080 if you wanna talk pixels.

Re: Can the PS3 save Sony?

do they do the ratio with the overall size/percent ratio or just pizels per square inch? The bigger you go the more pixels are needed to get the same quality as a say... 20 inch monitor with 600/800 vs a 60 inch with 600/800 or do they rate it some goofy way?

Re: Can the PS3 save Sony?

It's alot less pixels per inch when compared to a computer monitor. I've got a 21" (almost 20" viewable) CRT that I usually run 1280x1024 (occasionaly 1600x1200) and a 17" LCD that does 1280x1024 native. That's a good bit more pixels per inch...the difference, though, is that I rarely sit two feet away from my big-screen.

Twin 7950GT's in SLi mode!

though there isnt a game out there that even requires 1 7900GT, let alone twin 7950's. but then again, you wouldnt have to upgrade until the PS4/Xbox720 comes out.
