FORD REVS UP EXCITEMENT IN SUPPORT OF 2006 DETROIT FOOTBALL CLASSIC

* The 2006 Ford Detroit Football Classic kicks off Ford's sixth annual Black College Road Trip, which travels to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) classic football games.

Detroit, Mich., Sept. 1 - Ford revs up its support of the fourth annual Ford Detroit Football Classic on Sept. 2 with the kick off of Ford's grassroots community effort, the sixth annual Black College Road Trip featuring an all-new 2007 Ford Expedition EL modified by hip hop guru Funkmaster Flex.
Two recent Historically Black College and University (HBCU) graduates, Derrick Miles and Ashley L. Patton, will drive across the country as Ford "Roadies"; visiting local schools to promote the educational opportunities at HBCUs. The Roadies will drive an all-new 2007 Ford Expedition EL, modified by Funkmaster Flex, traveling to ten HBCU classic football games with audiences exceeding 500,000 people.
Ford will also continue its contribution to a growing college football tradition in the city of Detroit at this year's Classic by offering two spectators the chance to win a 2007 Mustang. Two lucky fans will be randomly selected from the audience to participate in the Ford Field Goal Challenge, in which the contestants will try to kick a 40-yard field goal and drive away in America’s original pony car.

2006 Ford Black College Road Trip
The fans in the stands will get pumped up by the 2006 Ford Black College Roadies who are on the trip of a lifetime in an all-new 2007 Ford Expedition EL tuned by Funkmaster Flex. Traveling more than 8,500 miles, this year's Roadies will attend various black college football classics across the country. They will provide various community services like helping young people understand the importance of obtaining a college education and the benefits of attending an HBCU. While in Detroit, the Roadies will visit a local middle school and provide $1,000 worth of school supplies to the students, as well as deliver food through the Meals On Wheels program . Ford Fantastic Giveaway
