This NFL season:

I read this in a FOX Sports article and thought it was pretty interesting:

Just in case you aren't totally geeked for the start of football season, here's a preview of what you are going to see in the months to come:

If you somehow manage to watch every regular-season game, you will witness about 1,100 touchdowns, 600 of them passing, 400 rushing and another 100 on defense and special teams. You'll also see 900 field goals and about a dozen safeties. You'll enjoy almost 10,000 completed passes and 9,000 first downs. If you like defense, you're in luck: a typical NFL season features roughly 1,200 sacks and 500 interceptions.

But an NFL season isn't all touchdowns, sacks and excitement. Over the next four months, you'll see 6,700 incomplete passes. The Football Outsiders database shows that a typical season includes 1,200 runs for no gain, 1,700 one-yard runs and almost 2,000 two-yard runs. For more boredom, how about 200 missed field goals, 2,400 punts, 200 touchbacks and over 500 fair catches?

You'll see about 4,300 penalties, 800 of them false starts, 600 offensive holding calls, 130 roughing the passer flags and over 200 defensive pass interference penalties, half of them against Quentin Jammer.

Finally, by the time they pry the remote from your lifeless hand in January, you'll have watched about 1,500 measurements for a first down, 3,500 reaction shots of the head coach on the sidelines, several thousand beer advertisements and a few hundred previews for 24 (a show you'll watch anyway) and War at Home (no comment). And you'll hear over 800 hours of announcer babble, three or four of which will be informative.

But thankfully, you'll only have to endure one Rascal Flats/P. Diddy concert.

They won't as long as Carson doesn't get his knee rolled again. If he stays healthy, the steelers...and the rest of the AFC for that matter...will not make it far. Although, now that ****na is gone, even if Carson sits out, at least they have a reliable backup.

He sure hasn't up to this point in his career, but I think he is the most skilled QB in the league, maybe ever :hmm: (even though he certainly isn't the best at winning the big games). I believe he will win one before he retires, and this year seem as good as any.

Panthers will def not be doing anything this year. and that is a fact

He is for sure a great QB, but he just can't do it in the big games. He is like Marino...great QB, but will never get the ring.

Hold on while I laugh.

2: You say the Panthers will not be doing anything this year. Then who in the the NFC will, personnally I'd like to see my Falcon make it to the superbowl, but I don't think thats going to happen, and it certainly wont be Seattle again. Carolina has the leagues best WR (Yes Steve Smith is the best reciever in the NFL right know. End of story), a very solid QB, and a awesome Defense. I think they will possiable be the best team in the NFL this year.

Yes the Colts goofed up their season at the end of last year, but they were trying to go undefeted, and then they lost I think it was their 13th game. I'm sure that took away enough of their momentum, and then Tony Dungy's son end up committing suicid. They were the best team last year, even though the lost to the Steelers in the playoffs.

And they were just a Rofflecopter shoe-string tackle away from winning that game, too.

They could put all 21 on the field at the same time...but if manning can't get it to them to put the points on the board, they will not win.

Man i did a pretty decent job predicting this season. Said Panthers werent gonna do anything thats what happen.

If only Hasselbeck (however you spell his name) didnt get injuried the Seattle could have done something but it was just to late

Dolphins did an alright job considering hell even the cowboys made it to the playoffs.

Giants well maybe next year if they can replace Tiki with someone just as good.

Look even predicted the Bears and like i said a year of upsets
