Country music star Willie Nelson and four others were charged with possession of marijuana and mushrooms after the tour bus he was riding on was pulled over by Louisiana State Police in St. Martin Parish.

According to a State Police news release, the bus was stopped to conduct a vehicle inspection and a state trooper detected the scent of marijuana on board while he was talking to the driver.

State Police said the bus was searched and a pound and a half of marijuana and two-tenths of a pound of mushrooms were found.

The driver was taken off the bus and citations were issued to Nelson, 73, of Spicewood, Texas and four others.

After being issued the misdemeanor citations, the suspects were released.

What does surprise me is they were only issued citations. I have had friends arrested for just the fact there was a roach in their car.

I know people that would have gone to jail for "intent to distribute" for that much weight. Guess being famous has its benifits.
