yeah if it is true.

yet the statement makes it sound like its 2500/6mo for just the cobra, as thats the only car listed on that one statement.

then again, our insurance lady did say the Cobra would be cheaper per month than the GT if the GT stays on, because the cobra would be an auxilary car and probably not driven much.

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

definatly check that insurance, if your record is clean you should have no trouble getting insurance around 130 a month at least if not lower~ With my car on full coverage and a 250 deductable on everything I only pay 75 a month~

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

everyone used to be like that here.

now all those kids moved up into evos/sti/srt4 or actually modded right honduh's. i emphasize the evos though, they are so ****ing easy to mod and move from the stock 280hp to 400 with a couple hundred bucks. most honduh's are now to the point the reason the owner still has it is cause its been built to hell and back, has forged closed deck b16 with a 60trim, full headwork running a lsd'd tranny and DR's, and is either stockish outside(rims and drop) or is extremely riced out into luring those who think they can pwn yet another ricer into a false sense of security.

the honduh hatch down the street from my work has a 4g63(Evo/DSM motor) swap with a 20g and dsmlink. the car is like a dark brownish green, looks like the color of **** after a long nights drinking fest, with bright red pep boys lookin rims with a polished lip. one of few honduh's id choose to hang out with.

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

it will. the ricer sections in autozone/pepboys are gone here. actually that whole image is basically frowned upon, and whatever happens in america happens in cali first. you will also see a drastic decline in street racing, as that is becoming severly frowned upon by even close friends as our once die hard racing generation grows up. i still believe if you have to put someone in their place, make sure theres no cars in front of you and nobody is waiting to merge or turn out of a parking lot. however driving around looking for a race is a waste IMO. sadly i drive around looking for places to take badass car pics.

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

Yeah i havent been to PepBoys in awhile so i dunno yet

As for street racing, its a big culture over here and it will not die at all. **** just starting on Monday a whole slew of new laws came about going towards street racing but the bad boy that takes the cake is what i have below. everyone in the community up here is PISSED at this. A petition has started and all to get these new laws rechecked...Damn Election years

Quote:
"And, there's an addition to the law about street racing that makes it illegal for anyone to own a car for the purpose of street racing, or for anyone to act as the starter, timekeeper, judge, or even a spectator at an illegal street racing event."

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

im just waiting for someone with power and money to get busted and bring every lawyer down on these bull**** laws.

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

thats retarded. a certain kind of tires and youre instantly driving a street racing only vehicle?

id just point to my mileage. "Yeah, i dont think a vehicle only used for streetracing racked up 100k miles, that what, average 25,000 runs against someone?

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

I know someone who went to DynoSpeed in Memphis and he had a set up like mine and the tune was ****ty and they absolutely refused to go above 8 psi.

Now that's not to say they don't know Cobra's, but just something to consider.

If it wouldn't require me taking off classes and work for a week, I would have gone to Rob's place. But it's worked out now. If I have any more problems or do anything else tune requiring, I will probably go there though.

or unless you know what hes doing when you watch him set up the timing and fuel curves and whatnot. nothing to it really, start out rich and little timing, work your way lean and add timing until you find the edge and pull back to keep it on the safe side.

^^ I helped in the tuning of my car and the whole process is so simple and straight forward once you see it done. Makes total sense now...so at least I can understand what people are talking about now. lol

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

Some palces dont really leave the dyno equipment all that accessible to customers though. I would research that as well before I go, because now that I have had to essentially tune the car myself with help from Andy, I know much more about it than I did. Probably more than the last people that dynotuned it in Cullman.

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

yeah its even easier in a DSM because they have a knock sensor that over a certain point, the ECU will ****** timing when you get knock(predetonation that kills).

though if you have a Wideband and a EGT(for ****s and giggles) tuning is still pretty much dead on. start rich, lean it out to your desired a/f, add timing, if the EGT's get too hot its running too lean and/or getting predetonation(cause of the heat) and you either add more fuel to keep the timing where you want it, or lessen the timing advance and keep the fuel leaned out.

though there are many ways to find the sweet spot. some people i know just dial in injectors and swear that timing is the way, so they run massive amounts of timing but keep it on the rich side. others swear by running less timing but leaning out as much as possible. i used a combination of both, lean as possible with as much timing as possible, best of both worlds.

anyone had any good luck with that SniperTuning software for the 03/04's? im thinking about going with that when i get to that point.

I say go for it and let us know how it works to the very last detail so we can all marvel at your knowledge.

Re: More Cobra Awesomeness!

yeah, so was dsmlink though (600$, and you needed a 95 EPROM ecu which was another $300 unless you already had a '95 car, and you needed a laptop) and was well worth it.

i dunno, i wouldnt need it unless i was far past the point where standard dynotunes got too expensive (as in multiple hours of dynotime)
