Re: Yay! Rumsfeld Resigns!

I love it. Rumsfeld obviously wasn't getting anywhere with Iraq. Maybe had he done this before last night we wouldn't be in the crap we are now with the Dems in control.

That is a little over exaggerated.

Gay Marriage will never become a national thing. Too many states are killing amendments to the states constitution to allow gay marriage.

And with just 1 seat advantage in the Senate I doubt they can do much with President Bush's veto.

Now come 2008 that can change depending on who is elected President. It looks like the House is the Democrats for awhile.

Overall I am glad to see change. The republicans deserved to get their *** kicked. You can not be mad at democrats for taking control back when the Republicans basically handed it to them.

Re: Yay! Rumsfeld Resigns!

No offense Brent, but I think you're Republican/conservative deep down inside. I've read many of your posts and you seem to be a good American. When I say good, I mean a good sense of what's right and what's wrong. And, yes, I believe that most Democrats do not have these values. Most I come across (maybe because I live in California) make all of their decisions based on their emotions, and not what's right or wrong.

Their hearts bleed so much that it clouds their logic. "Save this," "save that," "oh, those poor homeless people," "everything has rights," is all they ever say. Oh, and they're real good at identifying the problems in society, but never seem to offer a solution.

I used to be Democrat, but I began to notice that many of their causes sounded good on the outside, but were a rip off when you got down to the nitty gritty (social security, welfare, abortion, gun control, and basically every other free hand out to life's so called unfortunate).

Re: Yay! Rumsfeld Resigns!

I voted straight Republican yesterday fyi. It doesn't matter what I feel. What matters is that the Republicans dropped the ball big time. President Bush has no doubt mismanaged this war. He has been stubborn and had kept Rumsfeld in power way to long. He had continually said he would not remove Rumsfeld but the day after they lose the House and Senate (they will lose the Senate, no recount is going to give the Virginia Senator the 7k votes he needs) Rumsfeld resigns. It is a little too late now.

Now if the Situation in Iraq starts to turn around the Democrats can lay claim to making it happen and rightfully so. It took the Republicans loosing the house and senate for them to make changes in leadership.

Re: Yay! Rumsfeld Resigns!

I agree. Maybe these politicians will finally realize that the American people are tired of them feeding us BS.

The Dems may not actually have the Senate yet though. Virginia is going to be the Florida of this election.

They will have it when they get the recount done. No way the recount is going to net 7k votes for him

Are you joking? Rumsfeld should have left over a year ago. If you honestly think Iraq is going well and he didn't make mistakes I don't know what to say to you.

There is a point where you have to push your beliefs beside and own up to the fact that he was not doing a good job at all and a change in Iraq is needed.

Re: Yay! Rumsfeld Resigns!

Word up, Brent.

I'm telling y'all, though. Deadlock in government is good. Politicians want to make more government, it's in their own best interests. Fortunately, Republicans and Democrats want to do different things with the government. If we have one in the White House, and the other in Congress...far fewer new laws get passed, because the President will Veto the bills he doesn't agree with. You know how many vetos Bush as thrown down? One. To prevent ****ing stem cell research. It's ****ing unbelieveable. HIS PURPOSE IN GOVERNMENT IS TO VETO BILLS!! He's been there six ****ing years, and done his job once.
