Re: cobra or tt supra???

umm cobra.

unless you have lots of money and know exactly how and what to do to a supra.

Cobra's are very good street cars, IRS helps get traction in even the worst circumstances, and the eaton will make power everywhere in the rpm band. ive seen simple bolton setups (pulley+tune+DR's) go for mid to low 11's at the track.

Re: cobra or tt supra???

Cobra, because it will be newer by 6 or 7 years, less miles, and less likely to have been beat on.

What kind of street racing are you talking about doing? If you are talking about runs from 100 mph - 160 mph on the interstate, get the Supra.

Otherwise, get the Cobra.

But if you really want to street race... I'd say get a Civic. They are beasts.

only if the funds and brains allow. its not as easy as everyone thinks to make a 1000hp supra.

cant up the bewst without upping the turbo. cant up the turbo without upping the fuel. cant up the fuel until it can be compensated for (tuning). all three steps have to mostly be installed at the same time or in levels. you usually do the support first, so that its ready when the real toys come in.

and the motors will hold alot of psi. there was that video where they threw on a truck turbo for ****s and giggles because they wanted to see how far the motor would go since they were dropping in a built one, i think it was 55psi and the only thing that let loose was the head gasket. they decided the fireball from an exploding head gasket at 7000rpm was good enough a grand finale.

dont tell me you've never seen a supra running 90821329830psi before.......

i'd imagine a turbo pushing out 90821329830psi would be a tad too big for the engine bay...................custom roof mount turbos FTW OMGo1238eufjf efefadsfnml;oarhyp3yr098378383837r03893!!!!1!!!

with a roof mount turbo, the sky is the limit

This just seems common sense though. More horsepower with a bigger turbo and of course you're going to need more fuel and ****** some timing up top and make all the other tweaks and adjustments. There's nothing black magic about it all...

I wouldn't buy either car until I knew I could afford to break something. But of course I would lean toward the cobra.

youd be suprised how many people ive ran into personally who just think all the 1000hp supras are still on stock twins and fuel setups, who think a boost controller and a fuel pump is sufficient to "blow away" hyabusas.
