And now Shula is Gone

I knew the Alabama Alumni and Trustee's woould not stand for 5 in a row and seeing the thumb. But Shula is leaving with a boat load of their money

He was not a bad coach for a new non seasoned coach. He just took the hits for the sins of Dubose the hick

Re: And now Shula is Gone

there were a lot of teams that faired worse than everyone thought. Bama was one that comes to mind. same with Auburn and Texas. I don't think you can put all of the blame on the coaches though. just like Rutgers, Louisville, Arkansas and others that have had great seasons, you can't just give the coaches all the credit. IMO, the coaches are as much to blame, as well as praise, as the players. you have to want to win. and i don't mean just saying it. and if it's not there, it ain't gonna happen.

I don't care who it is. They can't call worse plays than Shula.

It depends on if the offensive coordinator of the bengals go there or not. That dude has no ability/balls to call plays anymore...

Sounds like a good candidate to replace Shula lol. Shula was offensive coordinator for the Bucks and couldn't cut it either. Then Alabama hired him as a head coach.

He coached Miami to an undefeated season. Don't think he ever coached the Bengals though.

Had to look it up...but, it was Dave Shula...so no, it wasn't this guy. Oh well, I guess the gene stopped with Don in that family tree.

Actually most play calling is done by the Coordinators not the coach. That is why the Defensive coordiantor is the acting coach because the offensive coordinator will be replaced as well. He is in my opinion the suckier of the 2.

It will never be Spurrier!!! Why you ask??? Simple he is about creating a legacy. At Duke he took them higher than they have ever been in modern history. He took Florida to a higher level and dominated the SEC which they had never achieved. He will not work in the shadow of The Bear or anyone. He wants his own legacy not one he would never be ever able to eclipse. At South Carolina they have never had anything close to a legacy. They have never won a nation championship or a conference championship. They have never had a undefeated season and have a poor bowl game record. For Spurrier this is the best place to be because the only direction he can go is UP because he started last year at the bottom.

That was The older Shula son. Mike has only coached as an assistant at the Miami

That is exactly what I have been saying forever!

I am about sick of hearing this. Just because we fire Shula doesn't suggest it was because he didn't live up to the bear.

The guy has had an horrible offense since the Florida game LAST YEAR. After that game it went to crap.

His play calls were horrid, time management horrid and overall coaching was horrid.

Everyone could see that... well except for the people that wanted Shula to keep his job aka Auburn fans.

How long is too long before you realize that he just wasn't cut out for the job? He couldn't cut it as an Offensive Coordinator for Tampa Bay. He couldn't cut it as a coach for Alabama.
