Alright guys, need help with something

A friend of mine works for Circuit City as a PC Tech guy, so he goes around to people's houses fixing their computers. Well, one day he came back from work and had to call me telling me about this guy's house he went to.

When he went into the living room where the PC was, he was shocked at what he found.

An entire array of music instruments on the wall, all hooked up to this weird machine that connected into the computer. Stunned and not sure what he was looking at, my friend asked what this was all about.

Apparently, this "machine" can play songs from your computer by converting whatever song into different amounts of air pressure that goes to these instruments and plays the instrument!

He told me it was like hearing a live band in his living room. He played Eagles - Hotel California, and it was like he was at a concert listening to it be played right there in his living room. My question for you is, could you help me find this website that he got it from? I just want to see pictures and possibly see videos as to how this thing plays. I'm pretty blown away by just hearing about it and would love to see it in action.

He did say though that it cost him $10,000 to buy. He says he's not into cars, has no kids, and loves music. So all his hobby money went into that.

So guys, lets find that machine!

I think your friend is full of ****.

Sorry, but there is no way in hell you could use air to accurately reproduce the intricacies of a band. If there was... it would cost a hell of a lot more than $10,000 bucks. It would probably be a multi-million dollar piece of equipment and would require engineering at a level that the human race as a whole is probably not currently capable of.

He took a picture of something on his phone.

Have you ever played a guitar? If so, do you really think a machine could be made to do it?

There's no way you'd ever get it to sound anywhere near decent.

Re: Alright guys, need help with something

The machine has a point on every part of the guitar, yes a machine could be made to do it and has done it.

He told me it sounded really weird when he heard the song though

We both agreed there's probably no "Soul" feeling to it, it's very to the point, but no long sweet notes, it's like hearing a computer talk. It talks very direct, but no actual soul to the voice. That's the best way we could describe it I guess

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

You might could get it to play note by note. But slides, bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs, palm muting, pick slides, harmonics, etc etc etc... would be almost impossible to reproduce. I'm guessing it would sound very "electronic", kinda like MIDI files.

Please. You're the wrong person to be correcting anyone when grammar is concerned.

Besides, a "shift key" is not a proper noun.

One more thing, "its" is possessive. "It's" is a contraction for "it is".

maybe he had a speaker hidden in each instrument and the software was smart enough to pull out the different instruments (doubtful) and play them at each speaker~

he could have each speaker connected to a different channel and and had the software send the correct sound to the correct channel.

I agree 100%. Attempting to correct grammar on internet forums is useless.

See, that's where you are wrong. I am pretty high, although I may not be all that mighty.
