Denver snow storm

Someone sent this to me, Pretty crazy how a hurricane can call all the attention and a huge *** blizzard gets not a thing.

Quote:
Denver News
WEATHER BULLETIN

Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic event--- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and winds to 90 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:
George Bush did not come.
FEMA did nothing.
No one howled for the government.
No one blamed the government.
No one even uttered an expletive on TV.
Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.
Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.
Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.
CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5 snowstorm.
Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.
Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.
No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera.
No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.

Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars.

The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't ask for a penny.

Local restaurants made food and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snowbound families.

Families took in the stranded people total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.

We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".

We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for 'sittin at home' checks.
Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north of about 40 degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems evaporate."

there are not enough poverty sticken, lazy ***, leaches that have full ability to work but would rather have the government supplement their incomes living in denver. if there were, i can assure you that Babs would be singing and telling hecklers to shut the **** up, FEMA would be handing out the cards, and all of those hollywood would be up there raising all sorts of ****.

Re: Denver snow storm

And 44 inches of snow is not that big of a deal. You live in Colorado, if you can't deal with snow, move.

How about when buffalo received 7 feet and it shut down that area of NY for a week?

This new coverage of the snow in colorado has been funny to say the least. "They received 16" today"...BFD, that was common play back in NY. Grab a shovel and move on.

As for the comparison to NO, yeah, well, I don't think anyone will ***** and complain more than NO. Florida didn't ***** and complain as much when they get drilled by hurricanes all the time. MISS and AL don't ***** and complain. Like was stated, not enough vote farms (aka projects) in those states for the gov't to car, nor for the activist groups to care.

Re: Denver snow storm

i think it makes a great point. its funny because i think that hurricane katrina is the only natural disaster in the entire world of all time that people were pointing fingers blaming on leaders.

Re: Denver snow storm

Just because the majority were black people and the leaders were republicans. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton couldn't pass up a chance to milk sympathy from other blacks around the world in blaming all their problems on Bush.

Re: Denver snow storm

We had so many natural disasters in NC when I lived there and they just had another one not to long ago, not one time did it get that much publicity. It's rediculous how much NO *****ed and how much attention it got.

I dunno, maybe because Katrina killed at least 1,836 people (according to the almighty mightyness that is the mighty Wikipedia).
