terrible, terrible news.

I just found a cheap 8.8 with 4.10's in it at a pick and pull. The guy is my friend's uncle, he offered it to me for 110. But, I just got told by my parents that if I have money to make my car go fast, I have money to start paying rent. For some reason they have no objections to me throwing it into my system or the looks of my car. I think they just don't want me in a fast car. So, I'm pretty pissed. I'm all ready to finally push my car through puberty and give it some balls, and I get a no. So ghey.

here's a good arguement..... you found the 8.8 for $110 right? well, you can install that yourself. just tell them that it comes with a traction locking differential. that makes your car more safe. if you got one installed it could cost up upwards of $350-400ish. tell them that the safety is off-set by "minor" increase in acceleration you would get

gotta know how to persuade parents

Why don't you move out on your own and then you can buy whatever you want? Push YOURSELF through puberty and give YOURSELF some balls. You'll have ALL your money for YOURSELF!

And the landlord.
And the power company.
And the water works.
And the sewage company.
And the grocery store.
Blah, blah, blah...

Dude, I make crap for money. I'm in school. I can't afford to move out on my own. If I did, I would have NO money for my v6 baby. And it may get better. I'm gonna take my dad to the track and let him take my car for a ride.

Simply pick up the 8.8 for $110 and sell it on the board for $250 + shipping..

At least let someone benefit from such a great deal.

my mom says if i can pay for it, i can mod it.

she isn't putting a dime into the car or helping me along the way, If i get a job i can put my money into it and she has no problem with that.

Damn dude. That sucks. Any way you can try to do it behind their backs? I know i would at least try... As far as modding goes w/ my parents... they dont want me doing anything too extreme or dangerous (i.e. Nitrous).

Well, dad was fully impressed by the local track guys. The dedication some of those guys have and I got a track guy to show my dad some of the safety things they have. I met my friend Josh at the track and he let my dad do a run in his chevelle. My dad loved it. He says go ahead with what I want, make sure I don't fall behind on bills or anything and tell him before I add anything complex myself or take it anywhere. He thought all racing was the backyard, reckless kind like the street crap we have out here. Cool thing too, he was kinda embarresed by how slow my car was in comparison to most (but not all HAHAHAHAHA! I watched this ghetto looking black guy in a cadillac get whooped by a 19 second little toyota) so I may be getting corporate sponsorship if things go well. a.k.a daddy helping pay for some of the parts.
