Today is proving to be a good day

Well, I pick up my stage IV ported SC tonight.

My JLT CAI came in
My metco 6# lower came in
Finalized my order for longtubes, KMember, and misc supporting mods...all should be here this week.

I quit my job
I accepted a new position with Lamar Advertising for $10k more per year.

I received payment for a yarn website

Sun is out and it is warm and top is down.

Yup...in the words of Ice Cube...today is a good day.

Parts...

Long tubes, 60#'s, and K-Member should be here friday/monday. Then install.

I will be sanding the supercharger down tomorrow in prep for the BBQ paint this weekend...then it is going on the car. Should be fun.

Now that I have gone threw all the post I missed I am back to give a few Questions, Comments, and Complaints.

Questions:

1. Did you get your Plentium and TB ported along with your blower.

2. How much did the port job cost.

3. How long did it take them to port your Blower. (Including time spent shipping it)

4. Did you take the blower off/and are you putting it back on yourself or are you having someone else do it. Is it easy or hard to do.

5. Why are you using a #6 Lower pulley and what upper pulley do you have. I'm not saying what your doing is wrong, Ive just read where several people say that a #4 lower pulley with a 2.93" upper pulley is the best combination on a ported blower, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about a ported Steggy.

Comments:

1. You should now be a member of the 500+ rwhp club.

2. I know that JLT is suppose to be the best CAI, but I think I'm just going to get a C&L pipe and bolt my K&N to it. Nothing against JLT, this is just what I want to do to my car, I like the look.

3. Now maybe you can hang with some of those Condors. J/K.

Complaints:

:damnit: I want a Stage 4 ported Steggy.

But I got to get my **** sitting right first. Here's what I'm thinking.

MM Coilovers with Bilstein Sports shock/struts, rear grip box stage 3 to help with the wheel hop, MM IRS k-member and full length subframe connectors, BilletFlow IRS brackets, and brace,(There sure is a lot to do the the IRS on these cars to get them working right) and some 18" AFS chrome Cobra replicas with Nitto D/R in the back, either 305's or 335's. Oh yeah and some wheel spacers, not sure what size I want to go with yet. After all that I can start with the power mods, it might take awhile to get there though.

Sorry for the rambling, but I can't wait to start modding my Cobra. I need to go ahead and do my taxes to see what I get back.

Yes, the plenum is ported. No, the TB isn't ported because I am going to replace it with one of the new Amazon Racing single blades when they come out.

This one cost me $575. Bought it 300 miles used from a guy that blew up his input shaft right after getting tuned (had 125 wet shot with the port...input went boom)

Took me about 30 minutes to drive to the next town over during rush hour and exchange money for the blower. But, there is a 2-3 day turn around when you get a port...or you can pay the core fee and have them ship you the ported and they will refund you the core when you return them your SC so you will have 0 down time

I will be taking it off hopefully this weekend or next week. I will be going to StangHi because I get free labor and will be helping him do it. It is not that hard to do and there is a nice write up I could find for you if you want, but I have several other parts going on that need a lift and we will just be doing them all at once.

I am going with a 6# lower because I am running a 3.10" upper. I will end up with the same boost levels as the 4# and 2.93" upper. The reason for this choice was to get a bigger upper pulley and a bigger lower pulley to battle the belt slip.

I went through the same "suspension first then power"...but I just couldn't wait any longer to get over 500. Had to do it, and just happened to fall into a good deal on a steig stage IV. I am going to start prepping it for paint tonight. Clean it up and sand it down and paint it probably friday and/or saturday. It will be a whipple look-a-like when I am done. lol
