Okay i did this before...

but i want to do this again, especially since there are so many new members.

What do you think of misbadging a car? i.e. putting on a roush kit and badging it a roush, or getting a cobra kit and putting cobra emblems on it.

just looking for opinions...

Re: Okay i did this before...

I have parts from every mustang ford produced and most of the aftermarket ppl. I see no problem with putting the parts on there..but I would need a hell of a lot of emblems to properly misbadge my car lol.

My thoughts, no, if it's a v6 proudly wear a 3.8 (or 3.9) badge and leave it at that.

Re: Okay i did this before...

I think you should be taken out to the woodshed and beaten until you agree to take them off...

Then...when you take them off...beaten some more because you thought to do it in the first place.

Mis badging is the worst thing you could ever do. If you don't have one, don't advertise that you do. Then some rice punk brags about beating something that isn't even close to what they think it is.

it is only at this point can badges be applied...when it is officially registered as a roush/saleen/whatever...can it then be badged as such.

Re: Okay i did this before...

i think its ghey. use the body kits n parts, but dont try to pass off a non rousch/saleen for a real one. i will most likely be mixing parts of the rousch kit in with my car, but i def. wont be badging it a rousch.

Misbadging is a big no no.

Wheres the pic of that kids car with all the badges on it. He had a cobra, gt-r, GT, and a v6 badge I think.

Re: Okay i did this before...

as a GT with a roush kit, **** NO!

its not a ****ing roush, its a GT with a body kit, nothing more, nothing less. Misbadging it as a roush is FAKE! Even if you want to make a roush replica its not fully a roush till jack signs off on it, and even then at the end of the day, the vin numbers still read Mustang GT/V6 etc, not Roush.

even if i stuck IRS out back, a Cobra spec T56, a Forged 4.6L bottom end with 4v up top, and a Eaton, guess what, it still isnt a cobra.

Re: Okay i did this before...

i say don't badge it as something it is not. Let people know it is not a roush but you did the work to make it like one, because you like roushes...that takes more than just going out and buying one anyway

Re: Okay i did this before...

the running horses on the side is plenty, looks good to me. At least with roush you can get a V6 roush and you MIGHT can get it certified if you do everything, i have heard of it being done before. I wouldnt put badges on it otherwise though.

Re: Okay i did this before...

but what is a base saleen or roush than a GT with a body kit, suspension, rims, and 10 more hp? if i were to have a GT and mod it to exact saleen or roush stage 1 specs, why cant i put the badges on there? its part of the package.

you could also argue it like this:

regardless of what specialty trim it is (roush, saleen, etc) they are all numbered for authenticity. giving it the full kit, numbers included, is more like false advertising, b/c if the vin is run, it wont be registered as a true roush/saleen, rather a clone, which is misbadging.

personally though, i think that if you were hard core about it and went through all the red tape and registered the vechicle as a authentic roush/saleen, then you should have the badges, b/c then it wont be misbadging........v6 or GT. if i'm not mistaken, there is a white saleen clone on another mustang site that got all oem saleen stuff and has it registered. i may be mistaken though, i just remember seeing something about it

Option # 2.

Maybe you could put Type R or a GTR badges on there though. J/K.

quite honsetly, ya'll are lucky i put the ME stickers on my car. i'm not a big fan of stickering up or badging cars, especially if it's not the real thing, i.e. a 6er with a roush badge. hell mine sounds like a gt but still looks like a 6.
