Re: so, apparently, my school isn't known for spell check

I've been around. I try to check the boards daily. Sometimes that doesn't get done. I wasn't getting mad, i just wanted to know if I offended him somehow. Anyway, this was supposed to be my last undergrad semester, but my advisor forgot to mention to get into grad. school I would need a year of intensive research (in Biochemistry) in order to get into the doctorate school in biochem at Iowa. so, I've been doing that. But yeah, here's a the course schedule:
Physical Chemistry
Experimental Biochemistry
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II
Technical Communications in Biochemistry
Inorganic Chemistry
that's why I've been pretty busy. I have a 10 minute speech with complete slide show and everything to give about a topic in Biochem. to Biochem seniors next Friday. I haven't done anything for it, seeing as how I had a test tonight, a test last Tuesday, a 50 page lab report due the day before that, and a test the week before that. not only that, but I've been averaging about 30 hours a week at work. it's been a tough semester so far. Anyway, I'll try to contribute more. As far as the leghumping thing goes... I guess I lost that. Now that I don't have much free time, I don't have much time to let the leg hump rush get to me I suppose.

Re: so, apparently, my school isn't known for spell check

well, maybe you should try to. I decided to stay the extra year for research just because I don't want to graduate and then try to go to grad. school with a job. I think it'll be easier to just do it all at once. Plus, then I can run my own lab, doing research that matters to me.

Re: so, apparently, my school isn't known for spell check

well, to start, I would love to research hydrogen producing bacterium. There's a mint to be made if one can provide a way to produce it enzymatically in a method that is sufficient to feed an upcoming hydrogen society. After finding a way to alter the genome of the hydrogen bacterium so their hydrogen enzymes have a greater turn over number, I'd like to be part of the team that designs the large facilities that will create and purify the hydrogen.

After that, I want to move into custom designed cells. I want to genetically engineer osteocytes so instead of laying down bone, they lay down enamel. Then, after you get a cavity drilled, you would inject enamelcytes (a possible name) with their chosen substrate and they could fill the hole with enamel, and therefore, you would replace tooth with tooth, instead of amalgam. (also, I don't claim to have spelled any of those weird words correctly.)

Sounds like you have some great ideas. Stick with them, and remember you are really good friends with me, Craig. So if you ever need somewhere to store cash, I'd be glad to do so.
