Re: I Myself...

Looks like a clean car, and looks like it was taken well care of. Less miles than my car....I'd say that's a decent price too.

I'd rather black interior but I'm not that picky, grey looks like too. What makes black the best, or is that just your opinion.

Re: I Myself...

black looks better, the gray ford uses looks cheap, but not nearly as cheap as the tan... and they all fade off leaving black under it.

Re: I Myself...

I've never understood why people complain about not being able to have a V8 mustang when they spend more on a V6 than they would a V8. Hell, when we were looking for another vehicle I found SEVERAL foxes/SN95's for under 7,000 and in good condition, but I digress[/rant]

Good find for a DD, but they're right, talk em done some, if not a lot.

Re: I Myself...

If it was up to me, I'd have paid $10,500 that I don't have on a red 1998 GT with 20,000 Miles on it, 5speed.. but ****..

I would have also paid 6,500 for the white 5 speed 1997GT with 60,000 on it... PARENTS > ME basically... same deal as my brother, dad wants me to drive a V6 for a year before I get anything else as a first car.. me and Monte already came up with 5,000,000 ideas of getting him to allow me a GT, but it didnt work.

Re: I Myself...

Aaaahhh, ok. Didn't know you had to worry about the parents influence... My dad did the same to me even though I was paying for it. First car equals 93 Pontiac Grand Am then the 97 V6 Mustang. I see where your coming from. Hell, I'm surprised my dad didn't let me get the fox I was looking at, 91 LX, stock save for flowmasters. It wasn't much faster than the V6, LOL.

Re: I Myself...

Well, my parents don't want me to get a GT.. because it's too powerful and I'm a kid and will speed everywhere and cause trouble and die.. when in reality, I don't speed, don't want a GT because it's faster, I just want a Mustang, with low miles, that I can enjoy.

I wrecked my V6 and was lucky I lived that, clearly, I don't need a V8 to die in an accident.. but I live under their roof, need to respect their rules.

I only got $3,100 back for my car, which means the above Mustang is a no go, unless I get them to drop their price pretty damn good...

Even if I did, my parents probably won't let me get a $6,000 or more car because they said paying Collision etc. will kill my wallet, and the insurance is going to be high. To be honest, I don't mind putting 80% of my pay check towards my car.. I've learned my lesson on why not to go out for drives every day/night of my life, it raises the chance for an accident.

I'll probably be buying a 1990 Ford Thunderbird for less than a grand and keeping that for a year, showing the insurance company I'm not a wreckless kid who dicks around and crashes, but that it was an accident, and it won't happen again.. because no tickets or any violations don't count.

All I have to say is :gay:

Edit:

The car I was actually talking about is the same thing as my brothers, same tan leather interior, same price, same miles, but red.. go buy that one!

a kid was driving so fast here today that his car went out of control, flipped over, went about 10 feet into the air, and THROUGH a pole. when i tried to ask people when i got the 911 call i couldn't believe it was a kid that crashed. most kids around here have HIGH insurance because they drive ridiculously--speeding almost killed him today

so take my advice and take it easy so its not you in the same scenario again

Re: I Myself...

Same scenario again? That scenario was nothing like mine.. if that rock wasn't there my car would still be in one piece.. the only thing wrong I did that night was prolly try to avoid the deer I paid for it too..

I don't do any of that ****, I got pulled over for it when I first got my license and never did it again. I saw it said before, and I'll repeat it, I'm all show no go.. I don't care for speed. I am more of a audio head and making it look unique, could careless how fast it goes. The thing is, because I'm a kid and had a accident, I'm screwed, even though I had no tickets or anything.. I was doing everything by the rules.

I can still get another Mustang but I'd basically be working to pay for it, 80% of my paycheck would be going for insurance, which I don't mind doing, my first car made me fall in love with Mustangs.. I'd love to get this one this thread is about, but odds of me NOT getting it are high now.. I'm stubborn though, I'll keep pushing for it.

Re: I Myself...

all i'm sayin is don't be like that kid sounds like you have learned from your mistakes which is a good thing (and i meant don't get into another accident lol not that u could have prevented the first one, the one today with this kid was totally preventable)

Re: I Myself...

the MN12 tbirds arent that bad, i still have mine (though the sis drives it) and aside from numerous tranny and a/c systems its held up pretty decent.

and no, you never want to be in the position where any more than 20-30% of your income goes towards a single mode of transportation, so if you make 1000$ a month, not much more than 300$ of that should go towards your car (including insurance). at one time 50% of my income was spent on two cars, and while its not like i was strapped, you realize you can only drive one car at a time, and spending 1000$ a month just to say "Yeah, i got a 03 Cobra" wasnt worth spending that much money a month.

though if you have a job and you can make the payments and insurance and not be strapped, i dont see why the parents would object. i could see them telling you what you will drive if they buy it and/or its your first car, but if youre spending the money its your choice, they should just guide you in the right direction through the car-buying process. My first car my parents picked out and suprised me with it one day. I too will buy my kids' first car and they will drive it, when they get a job and want to move on and have the funds to do so, by all means have at it, since by that time they will hopefully be responsible enough and not drive like a maniac unless i specifically say so (i will be sending my kids to either Skip Barbers or Bob Bondurants racing school to learn advanced handling techniques, it costs but IMO its worth it)

This is true.. I can always get that Thunderbird for a year and let my insurance drop down a little, granted I dont have another accident and the insurance company see's I'm a responsible driver, and than get a Mustang I guess..

They don't care about responsible driving, if you're in an accident they give you 'insurance points' which will disappear (at least in NJ) with time (one point per year or 6 months or something)

If it was up to me, this Stang would be in my driveway ASAP.. parents do have a good point, as Thomas pointed out.

Besides, I use this Thunderbird for a year than I'll be able to get a GT or Cobra as a next car, even though I probably wont. Wouldn't mind a nice used Chrysler 300C
