Had a run-in with a GT...

After I got done meeting with the guy that owns the car-wash today, I pulled out on to Memorial Parkway. As I did, a white GT, one of the pre-05 models drove by. Car sounded awfully good. It became my mission in life to pull up next to him. I was eventually successful. I leaned out the window:

"That sounds awfully nice."

"I was just messin' with ya', you'll suck my doors off."

I was completely surprised at this point.

"It's just got long tubes, exhaust, and a cold-air," he said.

Unfortunately, we were a couple of cars back at the red-light, or he probably would have ran 'em anyway. Since he'd already forfitted the race, I busted the u-turn and headed back to work. I haven't had a street race in as long as I can remember, and it doesn't look like that's going to change.

Hahaha I had a WS6 guy race me once... he jumped on me, I caught up and started pastting -> he slammed on the brakes as soon as I started pulling ahead, then tailgated me for the next 5 miles, revving his engine every chance he got, within reason races are fun... but both parties have to be cool about it ... I wanna run into you on the street some day

Re: Had a run-in with a GT...

The best tailgating story I have is when a guy in a SUV was on my ***, I think I posted this here before.. we were riding up a wide road that I knew well, I go to 5-10 over the limit and he does so too staying on my ***, so I just slow down to the speed limit and shake my head at this loser.. than a deer runs out, I am able to avoid it and his head lights disappear and he's no longer on my ***.. I slow down to 10 under at one point than stuck at 5 under for awhile.. he wasn't showing up.. almost wanted to pull a U-Turn and at the ****er..

I only had my car for awhile, I didn't get in any races, thank god for that, IDK how the V6 would have held up.

My best is when someone was about 2 feet off my bumber and wouldn't pass. I proceeded to pull the e-brake at which point he nose dived and went into the ditch/swamp...I proceeded to continue on and waved as I drove off.

Re: Had a run-in with a GT...

When I had my truck I loved it when people would tailgate me, I would just dump the gas pedal and spew oily, dirty smoke and grime all over the front of the cars. This one time I had this punk in a t-top firebird (t-tops open of course). White boy with the had sideways, that kinda guy. He was all over my ***, so much so that I could barely see is windshield, I swear his nose had be be under my bumper. Anyway, I dump it hard and just watched the smoke billow from my pipes, that sure slowed him waaaay down. I don't remember seeing him again after that, I think he may have taken an exit or something, I am not sure. I think Brent was with me, so he can attest to this. I loved/hated that truck

Re: Had a run-in with a GT...

Sweet. I know how you feel Mark. Since we've had the notch we've only had one actual race from a dig. Since we got the Bullitt back, there is already two lined up. I swear, know wonder so many ricers are out there, they're the only ones that'll race.

P.S. The "pre 05" mustang is known as a new edge or 99-04. Sheesh, you'd think you would know that being on a mustang site. [/sarcasm] JFWY.

You weren't even getting on it when I followed you through Huntsville and got oil all over the front of my car. So yeh...that truck would put the smoke out lol.

I had some guy act like he didn't want to stop behind me last night at a stop sign. I was in the truck, and it has a nice trailer hitch on the back. I just held the brake for a few seconds longer and watched him barely stop in time. So much for wishing.

Re: Had a run-in with a GT...

When people tailgate me now, I just veer off the road a little bit. The Mickey Thompson ET Street radials will pick up ANYTHING and throw it up. I know it sounds mean, but I'd much rather them back off then me having to slow down for some reason and them rearend me and the notch get totalled cause some soccer mom was on her cell and I only end up getting 3 grand back because that's all the ins company thinks it's worth.

And I know those tires will throw anything, made the mistake of getting behind another friend with tires similar to those, they throw stuff everywhere.

Yeah. I don't much like the look of the 4th gen Camaros. I've seen some SSes that look good enough...but yeah...not nearly as good as a clean WS6. If you want to talk about 3rd gen Firebirds and Camaros, though...I'll take the Camaro.
