and to catch ppl up, he did a barrage of oil and filter flushes and changes and is now driving the car with no weird sounds or performance.

And if it was knocking/grinding before... its only a matter of time til he loses oil pressure while driving down the road

Haha...you wanna see something lose oil pressure, I should take a vid of my truck warming up. When the engine is cold it sits at about 45lbs at idle. When it's at operating temp it's at about 10lbs...

one of my ex-coworkers has a 91 F150 with a 5.0... 282k miles on it

goes from 40 lbs at idle when cold... to 5-10 lbs while driving... actual mechanical gauge hooked up to it, too

He drove it like that 16 miles each way to and from work the entire 4 years I worked there... it'd make noise like mad, esp. on cold starts.. but it never broke down

Everything's so loose in there, it probably isn't hurting anything haha

This is in my 87 ranger with the 2.9 V6 and xxx,xxx miles lol. I think the odo works...but no telling how many times it has turned over...
It had crazy lifter tick once it warms up. But...nothing in it breaks...yet
