Mod ideas

So, im brand new to ford, not to mention mustangs. Im pretty clueless when it comes to what works good with mustangs as far as aftermarket parts and ideas for interior mods etc. I have a lot of know-how when it comes to cars though. My dad has been an auto mechanic for 30+ years. What im getting at is if anyone has any good ideas as far as appearance/performance mods for the v6 2010, dont be shy

Re: Mod ideas

If that was my car i wouldn't do anything appearancewise to it it looks awesome already. I'd maybe lower it some exhuast and a couple bolt ons.

Re: Mod ideas

Hey guys what do you all say about making a sticky thread where we can post different sites on where to find certain performance parts, write-ups, how-to's, and such. I think everyone's research is different and it would be cool to see different performance sites that some of us may have overlooked or may not even know about.

Re: Mod ideas

lower it, perhaps diff rims, exhaust, paint side skirts to match the car?, paint/inserts for side mirrors, tint windows, change grill out to a GT version or something, many options out there.

Re: Mod ideas

For me personally, AmericanMuscle was a great starting point because they specialize in Mustangs, the site is easy to navigate, the prices aren't bad, they go in depth with installation, and they sell every "beginner mod" that we talk about here. For more high performance mods, try JEGS.

Re: Mod ideas

The list is endless, where to begin really depends on your desires and money! I went with wheels/tires first, it was a price I couldn't pass up and then because of the fatties out back, it sped up the need for true duals. These cars are very addictive to mod, so be careful but enjoy.

Re: Mod ideas

There are a lot of ways to go. You may want to give some thought about what your goals are. For example, some questions to ask yourself:
Do you want improved handling?
How important is the ride comfort?
Do you want more oomph off-the-line or top-end?
Street driven or will it see the drag/roadcourse?

Answering some of these questions will better help target areas of the car to improve which you will appreciate the most.
