Re: Wont be drinking beer for a while

cutting out alcohol (mostly) was my largest contributor to weight loss

eating 3 meals a day (bowl of cereal in the morning, a decent lunch and a normal dinner) helped a lot...

It's all in portion control.. I pretty much eat whatever I want, and I lost 52 lbs since this time last year

Just drink liquor instead. I'm actually on that "diet" too.

That and run and work out, and you should be good.

Re: Wont be drinking beer for a while

eat between 3 and 5 meals a day.. very small portions. dont eat any sweets or anything thats high density. usually ill eat like a banana when i wake up, granola bar mid-day, come home eat dinner, and late night (9pm 10pm) bowl of cereal.

im not a doctor or a nutritionist but the philosphy i live behind is your body weight x 10 is how many calories you should have a day. if you have that or less, you'll probably be losing weight.

lots of water... i drink maybe 1-2 gallons a day.

i jog 1-2 miles every tues and thurs.. this is where most of your fat will be burned. running is probably the best excercise you can do if you want to shed some weight.

every mon, wed, and friday i lift. mondays are chest and triceps.. wednesdays are back and biceps.. fridays are shoulders and legs. thatll keep the metabolism goin all week long, give you time for some protein synthesis and recovery. oh, and i forgot... i take whey protein. the optimum nuitrition one. taking that is up to you. if you are trying to shed pounds i wouldnt bother but if you are tryin to bulk up a bit too then it might be an idea.

if you want to lose weight and tone up, then do low weight high repititions... if you want mass.. high weight low reps. other than that, just remember lots of water and lots of small portions.

I went on the South Beach diet and lost 35 pounds like it was nothing, and have kept it off for around a year now.

Did you do the cooking yourself or did you go with those frozen dinners?

Re: Wont be drinking beer for a while

I went step by step by the book, Cooked and prepared everything myself, It was easier than I thought. The first two weeks are the hardest(stage one) but the rest was easy. My old lady lost like 20 lbs and we didn't even think she was over weight

I think the frozen foods are gimmicks, but it does make you read the labels a little closer. You don't count calorie's just eat smart.

Your supposed to chew longer, and eat slower also. My mom was just telling me something she seen on t.v. about how americans eat so fast, and that makes them over eat. Because by the time their stomach lets their brain know it's full, it's already been full for twenty mins. and you just kept on eating. And you don't supposed to put any quanity on your plate larger then the palm of your hand. It might help, good luck.

Re: Wont be drinking beer for a while

Another thing to keep in mind is don't drink quite as much when you are eating. By drinking while you are eating food, you are compressing the food that much more, meaning it takes that much more food to fill you up.
An easy thing to do is just eat what you can drinking none or very little, then finish the meal off with the rest of your drink.

This works and you'll really be surprised at how little you actually eat.

Slowing down while eating helps a ton too.

Then again, I eat really fast and drink at least 3 drinks every meal, so who am I to say lol.

what has always worked for me is to eat slow, and stop when you get to that full feeling, or even before. also salads for lunch most times.

ive now been the exact 205lbs i was when i got out of HS, and that was 5 years ago.

yep.. the key about losing weight is to spread out the food you do eat as long as you can to keep metabolism slow and continuous. eat several small portions a day to keep metabolism going.. lots of water to keep going.. and excercise to promote it going even longer. it will fool your body into thinking you are actually eating a lot. when you eat fast and big meals your body thinks you are starving and will store that food into fat. the idea is to shrink your stomach.. which you can do in a few weeks time. eventually you will get full of a small portion of a meal.

whatever you do.. dont starve yourself. you WILL lose weight.. but you will gain it all back.

Re: Wont be drinking beer for a while

best thing to do is not skips meals, but rather to eat everything in moderation---its okay to have A beer every once in a while but just leave it at that. i'm down 15lbs in the last couple of weeks, and i'm trying to get ready for my vegas trip in june but there is no damn way i'm getting rid of chocolate, so i'm working with it

just don't deprive yourself of things you like, just make sure u keep track of what you eat and how much of it, then you will see where your weaknesses are

Haha, ppl and their obsession to lose weight.
I had two bowls of cereal after getting back from class for breakfast I guess. I'll get a huge plate of spaghetti early afternoon and probably go out tonight.
All the while I'm about to start dropping weight. Gotta love working outside.

Re: Wont be drinking beer for a while

I'm not a small person, if I had to guess I'm around 215-220 right now. Give me a few weeks and I'll be back down to 190 or so.
I weighed 270-285 in high school, finally got the weight off and have learned how to manage it, it's called manual labor lol.
