Tattoo questions

Ok so I'm kind of nervous, I go for my tattoo tomorrow after work. First off I still have a sunburn which I'm hoping will go away. But is there anything I should know so that it doesn't catch me off guard?

I'm getting it on my lower back to the right. And instead of saying 'Tio' it will say 'Tia' in memory of my aunt who passed away a year ago this month.

Re: Tattoo questions

at first, for the ink virgin, it hurts when they first start with the needle. IMO, it feels like a hundred bees stinging you. but it starts to go numb and after a couple of minutes, you still feel it, but not so bad. if they do it right, you will barely feel it at all within fight minutes. my last one i watched a movie the whole time and didn't even notice when he was done. it was nearly painless and didn't even have to cover it for bleeding. of course, my guy makes his own needles. and that does make a difference.

Re: Tattoo questions

How much does it bleed and scab up? (Way to prevent that cause I am so not a fan of blood, haha...)

Re: Tattoo questions

don't get drunk beforehand. you bleed more because your blood is thinner. for faster healing, i used A+D ointment. it's diaper rash ointment you can find at CVS and Walgreens in the baby section. but it works wonders for healing. a lot cleaner application.

Re: Tattoo questions

I wanted to put it someplace I could see it, like my lower stomach, ankle or shoulder... But lower stomach I'm going to wait until after I have kids, I don't want it to stretch out. Ankle and shoulder I'm going to wait until I get married because I don't want those visiable when I wear my wedding dress.

Re: Tattoo questions

there is always the wrist. actually the back side of the wrist. when you get married, you can wear gloves to cover it. my sister has one there that you don't even know is there unless you are looking for it.

It's not gonna be in the center of my back, I guess it'll be more on my side.

for the first couple of days wash it with mild soap and warm water and then put antibiotic ointment on it and then for then next week or so until it is fully healed use lotion with vitamin E in it to keep it moist. the most important thing is to not let it scab up and start cracking

You can also use vitamin E capsules break 'em open and let the juices flow

Re: Tattoo questions

I'm not really worried about when I get old. Because when I get old it will mean the same thing it will now. My personal reminder of my aunt and best friend who passed away a year ago. I'll still remember her clearly when I'm older but I just want this small reminder.

That's one good reply...

Here's another...when I get old I won't care about it because when the skin starts drooping, you are more concerned about waking up the next morning than you are about how a tat looks.

And, in reality, when you look down and see that drooping tat...it will remind you of your wild times and make you think...man, it was a fun ride.

Re: Tattoo questions

also, yeah vitamin e comes in a gel capsule you can split open.. and rub the gel on. Or you can get a moisturizer with vitamin e and aloe vera in it. It should work... or instead of a moisturizer, you could get a "burn gel" which has aloe and vitamin e in it.

well then I suppose she's a liar. And probably a man. The ball is now in her court to disprove the logical conclusions
